In case anyone didn't know - Lloyds Banking Group plc announces that it has sold 57.5 million ordinary shares in TSB, representing approximately 11.5% of the Company's issued ordinary share capital, at a price of 280 pence per share. Following completion of the Placing Lloyds Bank plc will continue to hold approximately 50% of TSB's ordinary shares.

The plan to open 30 more branches to add to its network is in contrast to other leading banks which have been cutting bank branch numbers often in the face of fury from local communities. The bank also confirmed it was looking at buying up to £1.5billion worth of mortgages currently in government hands, The mortgages are owned by UK Asset Resolution, the quango which was set up to hold on to some of the assets from collapsed banks such as Bradford & Bingley. From the RNS 30th June - Financing As previously announced, White Young Green is in discussions with its lenders with a view to renegotiating its existing banking facilities. As part of this process, the lenders have agreed to defer the forthcoming covenant test date from the year end date initially to 31 July 2009. The margin on the banking facilities has been increased to 3.0% above LIBOR. The Board expects that a further deferral of the covenant test date will be requested. A further announcement will be made in due course as appropriate.

Thier financial year runs from 1st July to 30th June but Preliminary Results not due till Sept, maybe a sniff of good figures has leaked out?
