Next's former finance boss David Keens is joining the Sainsbury's board this week. Keens will take up the non-executive directorship from Wednesday (April 29). Britain’s third-largest grocer is redeveloping 12 of its sites, which have large car parks next to stores in prime locations, and has formed joint ventures with property firm Land Securities. Mr Rogers claimed that Sainsbury’s was looking at “exciting stuff” The supermarket chain has identified 1.5m sq ft of space across the UK, which represents 6pc of its portfolio, that it no longer needs for food as customers switch spending to convenience stores, the discounters, and online. Sainsbury’s intends to use half of this space to sell its collection of own-brand non-food products, such as kitchenware and homeware. For the remaining half, the company is in talks with other retailers about subletting space. TSB bonus shares - Lloyds will make arrangements to pay, to any investors who would have been entitled to receive Lloyds Bonus Shares, the cash value of those bonus shares (at the Offer price to be paid by Sabadell).
