The uncertainty, the pandemic, etc etc. Obviously some may have expected a recovery, but when the sp started to fall and not recover, I think that's been the opportunity for sellers/shorters to take control imo
I don't think it was rocket science to expect this given the state of play
People comparing AMC to cine and STILL talking about reddit etc need to seriously stop. There's boardline no comparison, especially on the trading aspect of both shares. Heard this all too many times about cine replicating AMC. It will not happen. Such an old trope now
Hopefully the uptake is higher than predicted. I know it's certainly a different conversation with some young people, but surely they'll realise that if they want to have wild holidays, they have to be vaccinated
Of course Bonkers, it was a good debate. Tbh, I really (rightly or wrongly so), only care to a degree due to cine mainly. Otherwise, I'd just be another spectator. I like Fun because he's more objective than most and backs it up. We've all had to fight our corner on this share and when I'm out, I'll be sure to let everyone know.
Q3 is almost here and we now have movies, larger global capacities and more freedoms. Come on cine, keep our frustrations and guessing to a minimum
Sorry guys, I won't mention the c or v word :(
Fun, yes agree with everything and of course some are just doing whatever they want. However this goes for every age group. Leadership is a shambles especially seeing what bojo said about his guys. Just all too odd almost 18 months on
I don't disagree with you guys and as I'm probably younger, I am just seeing it differently. I just find it astonishing that it always takes a rise in cases, for the so called experts to explain what could be done. Surely things could have been far better for all age groups
To some, this may not be relevant, but I think it is. It's probably the reason why we're in this mess in the first place (delays, backtracking, etc).
I've read today that scientists say that the key is getting younger people vaccinated as they (we/I), appear to be the ones spreading it. Why did they think it was the best idea to vaccinate older age groups so far in advance of younger ones? I understand the risks, probabilities, supply shortage etc, but the system seems like a whole mess.
I don't understand how it took them this long to realise that younger folk may spread it more. Now this in itself isn't the worst thing in the world, but it's the reporting, fear and dissatisfaction that some of the older generation may feel. They may still be reluctant to fully enjoy themselves and think twice about doing certain activities. This has probably caused not only a delay, but more wasted gov time in trying to figure things out. Companies like cine are caught up in all of this. I am totally confident in cine but the gov absolutely not. I truly believe we are where we are because of them and the irrational/manipulated market behaviour. Our fundamentals can counteract this, but we're fighting a battle to a fruitful recovery. Just can't wait for all of us to be rewarded
This is why the delay in the roadmap is odd to me. Cases will keep rising once the country opens up, however deaths and hospitalisations don't seem too high. But the rise in cases will play a role in fear etc. Yet again we're seeing so much inconsistencies and it's playing a role in the inconsistencies in the markets imo
I cannot explain the random drop again, but for those that are interested or who may find it relevant, Arb has only finished positive on consecutive days 5 times in the past 3 months. For every good rise, we've gone on a bad run. Super frustrating and have no clue what's going on.
Just goes to show, a good day means nothing if there's no consistency or consolidation. Short term I'm not too confident, but glad to hold at least until £2 whenever that may be. My prediction based on research etc is perhaps eoy for over £2
Haha I need a car that I can drive in London, nothing to be ashamed of! But Robin love the classic car. Maybe for another day
Haha Robin thanks but does that even get me 4 wheels???
Bonkers, that's what I'm talking about! Need me a new motor for the cleaner air scheme (London living :s)
If we're at 100% in the US on near enough, at least we got new excuses now, as long as covid in the US simmers. Hopefully now we have a fresh run from q3 onwards to see if we can reduce the debt, generate good revenues and bring back the feel good factor to the sp. If it's around this level by the end of the year, I'll be absolutely flabbergasted/sad/angry. All about the numbers now I guess
Lpd, thanks and it's been a very odd time. When the sp went to 125p in March or whenever it was, at that time, only those that targeted that as a sell price would have been satisfied and justified. Maybe there was an awful lot of sellers that we just couldn't account for and ever since the sp had been falling. However, it has held up and in reality, it didn't exactly spend 1-2 months trading above 100p. Could have been a false position, but one that we really deserved, but perhaps not realistic. Nonetheless, those of us have decided not to sell and are hoping for those levels to return. We're probably the wise investors seeing that we haven't had to rush and sell due to fear, emotion or need for funds. We're calculated and means that we can assess our positions a little longer and then decide what we want to do after targets are hit or not hit
Can I just add. There's been an awful lot of posters, and old ones that probably did a runner or just fed up of posting or fed up of cine, who knows. Most didn't admit to selling or going the other way, beside Nofear and maybe a few others. Those of us that are still here, salutes to you. Especially those that provide good commentary, data, articles, etc. I think the criticisms etc are just miniscule to the grand scheme of things. We are still here and hoping cine can have those wonderful days of recovery
Too be fair to fun and some others, there was optimism that the sp would still be close or at those higher levels. I just think he's been realistic seeing that things didn't quite go that way. Shouldn't be speaking for him, but that's my opinion. We've all got it wrong. Most of us, including myself say 80s and potentially lower based on the news and just cines past sensitivities. Again wrong (for now). At least he's not flipping like I see on other boards. Some go from 'to the moon' to '20s next week' etc etc. We had that with some guys, but in general things are not overly optimistic or pessimistic. Certainly frustrations etc, but that's not our fault, it's the sp's fault for being what it is lol.
It's actually £85k per institution.
Pig. Depends what your strategy is. If you want to save on fees then seems like iweb is very cheap. Pretty much every other provider has monthly platform/admin fees. If iweb has all the stocks/funds available for you then stay as is. But if you other options then Hargreaves Lansdown, AJ Bell, Interactive Investor, Fidelity, IG. There's so many out there and not necessarily a good or bad
Fun, I am. Hence why I said it's absolutely ridiculous for me to ask. But as I have never done such a thing and obviously don't advise people to, I wondered if anyone had. It's one thing knowing how to advise but another thing knowing how HMRC are with certain things. I won't end up doing it anyway.
Lpd thanks but I know all of that of course. But great for those who don't so salute for sharing. At least something useful has come out of my question
