Had a lovely day at the beach, a bit breezy but nice in the sun. I have just read all of the days posts and it was for me very illuminating! I still think COPL is at this current price a bargain and one which will be a good investment. I am ofcourse hoping for the huge valuations such as £30 ha! I can dream. But I see even the not so positive posts suggest 250p so even that would be good for me.
As for the banter on the board well, I'm not into the old mind games. I had enough of that when I was married (don't even go there!) and so I find the whole comments section funny in a strange sort of way. I'm looking forward to the next few weeks and months here as I think there is going to be a lot more regular news. Good news I hope!
Enjoy your Sunday evening people Monday morning will come soon enough!
Tempus Fugit. I knew that Latin lesson would come in handy.
I would like to know if I have read the fundamentals of this company wrong. I have made the assuption (and everything to some degree rides on this) that there is a large amount of oil under COPLs land. Assuming this is correct, and with oil hovering around the $100 mark (I still think there is a lot more room for this to rise over the next year) and the world still in some sort of political flux, I think the chances of a successful longterm outcome outweigh the chance that this stock will collapse.
I read all of the posts and see that many appear to be very negative towards the stock for a variety of reasons. I have invested for my future and especially that of my children, so a question to all the negative posters here. Have I made a mistake investing here? Is my money lost? (I don't have a lot by the way). Also to the negative posters, are you writing all this to save people like me from ourselves and suggest we sell our holding? I don't know what to think anymore but what i do know is that if the oil is there and it can be got out economically and at scale then surely the company has to be worth a lot of money?
Any answers much appreciated.
Thank you jiddy123. Yes, I think I am as up to date with most of the COPL data but it is changing with all the updates to news coming out of the company. i cannot say that I have an active exit plan but I want to hold for the longterm if I can, especially the kids investments, I say kids, my daughter is 19 but not very knowledgeable regarding banking/investing so I manage her LISA. I don't think they teach them much about any of this at school these days (and she got a B in A' Level Economics!) I haven't told her about the COPL investment as she's a bit of a Greta Thunberg fan and I don't think she would approve!
Hello fellow investors,
This is my first post on LSE although I have followed the comments posted here with interest. I was introduced to investing by my ex-husband who had some success but I used to leave that sort of thing to him. I decided to give it ago myself. So, I've been looking at sectors like Gold and Oil/Gas and other mining stocks.
I recently invested here at just over 20p per share and also bought a few for my daughters LISA and son's J/ISA. I have looked at the fundamental data, watched most of the recent interviews that the CEO has given and come to my own conclusion that this could be a very good investment over the next 5 years. I hope to drip feed into this stock over time to build up our holdings. Where do the people here see the share price over the next 5 years? What is the chance of being taken over and what do you think we could achieve as a fair valuation per share? I'm hoping that we can achieve at least 500p per share within 5 years. Is this realistic?
Am I right or am I wrong?
