I now realise I have done somethiong bad3 Apr 2021 19:29
Best advice please
I have been going through my bits getting ready for this tax year and have now realised that I have overpaid into ISA
I had £6k in a Santander ISA but took it all out in July for bits that I needed, I also had a standard stock and shares account with HL so did not worry too much but then opened a Stocks and Shares account with HL in October as my holding was getting bigger and wanted to save tax and kept topping up and recently topped up to £20k in this one.
so I have actually put £26k into ISA this year (yes I know I am stupid)
Would it be better to phone them and put my hands up and admit my stupidity or just wait till they contact me which I assume they will,
Has anyone else had a similiar situation and what was the outcome, any sensible advice would be appreciated
Cheers in advance
