Graphene inks. Graphene produced from Graphite results in islands of graphene. To make an ink it is dispersed in a liquid.
electrons travel from one end of the graphene to the other end. Therefore the liquid must also be conductive to facilitate electron transport across the whole printed line.. The best graphene inks currently have a resistance of approx 30ohms per square based on a thickness of 25 micron. If graphene inks are to break into the conductive ink market they ned to be less than 0.5ohms. ( to compete in performance with metal particle inks say copper or silver)
Composites are made up of two or more materials. For example base polymers such as and as an example an elastomer also known as rubber, or a polyamide also known as nylon. If graphene is added and properly dispersed and functionalised (functionalised - nano binding components are embedded on to the graphene surface to enable the graphene to bond with the polymer) it elevates the properties of the base polymer check out https://www.vittoria.com/us/pub/media/gene-cms/2/0/2019_vittoria_catalog_-_english_-_low_res_1.pdf This illustrates simply illustrates the benefits of graphene in an elastomer polymer successful and on the market commercial use..

You need to dig deeper no directors have resigned so that's misinformation. The financials? When you have visible long term and actual revenues liabilities can be balanced against revenues. Wish you the best but you will realise if you opened some more tins and really understood the market that there are several companies out there who are flying below the radar and are past the selling in kilos stage.
They produce by passing hydrocarbons over suspended catalysts. The outputs are expensive and can only be produced in small quantities. Whist market demand for low tech applications is in the 1000's of tonnes currently no producer has demonstrated they can make at the price and right quality
GNPs do not have the same properties of graphene. However they are a useful material. They do impart elevated properties for several applications. Two methods are used
1. Chemical vapour deposition as described by Nine_W expensive and low volumes only possible.
2 Liberate GNOs from graphite by breaking the bonds that hold the graphene within the graphite methods are harsh boil in acid and expand to liberate the GNPs. Lots of post production residues some are or could be toxic again expensive
The market for very large quantities exists and there are companies out there that don't issue PR and are unlisted that are making progress in leaps and bounds and do not loose millions a year with losses increasing each year. in fact there are one or two who break even and even make small profits. Problem with listed shares is the players are inclined to tell you what they will do in the future rather than what they are or have achieved
Thanks for the detailed info, I think Ill take a serious look at accounts at CH before buying Haydale. Graphite to graphene plays outside China are difficult to evaluate. If you are interested in this sector perhaps Alabama Graphite? but its a long shot. The Chinese dominate the Graphite market and are rumoured to be working with a non Chinese partner to install a plant that will produce 1000's of tonnes of graphene a year for the Chinese battery market. If the partner is Haydale that will stop panic sales?
Bought some graphite to graphene shares. Canadian and Aussie stocks. Poor sales grants and share issues keep them afloat, BOTAK is HCS turnover sales or grants? Graham seems to have a downer on Haydale for some reason. Ray Gibbs was in Asia seen him twice on planarMaterials stand. Haydale agents at conventions where my graphite mines to graphene investments had stands. This is a CEO who has kept at it for Haydale working hard, the guy would not waste money on business class trips to Asia if there were no sales. Asia must be looking good for Haydale/planarMaterials. Good for confidence if they posted some good news on planarMaterials/Haydale Asia sales.
Why does graham-wales post unknown material to incorporate into other materials. Haydale have a composite that they must have big graphene orders for and should bring profits soon see product press released today
Thinking of having a graphene punt checking graphene plays. Sector is dysfunctional with lots of Hype. Checked the Canadians - Elcora, (no sales but make perfect graphene) Grafoid, (real weird one even claimed cancer cures using graphene) Graphene light bulb, (claimed bulbs would be in B$Q last year). AGM send samples out working with 120 companies worldwide no sales. Revenues are from Grants. Haydale is another weird one that dips and dives. Shares are down now so considered this may be a good time to buy. Google search - found some press releases from Haydale. They post annual multiple breakthrough press releases since 2012 commercialisation on graphene inks and graphene composites. They promise sales but do nothing other than burn cash. On checking their financials the revenues they shout about are from grants, sales are dismal. Google Haydale graphene inks? There is something strange going on. The same seems to be happening with their graphene composites plenty of commercial break out press release claims but no sales. This sector is confusing. Shares are up and down with all these guys - guess its all about buy and sell timing Try this one PUBLIC RELEASE: 25-JUN-2013 Yes 2013 any sales yet? Haydale announce breakthrough graphene inks to accelerate graphene applications "The development of graphene inks with conductivity better than normal carbon based inks is a major step forward in enabling a myriad of commercial applications of graphenes to take place now. Applications that were previously only thought possible with 'yet to be developed and commercialised' CVD processes are now immediately accessible with our HDPlas graphene inks." At Haydale we have been working on the ability to commercialise graphene technology for 2 years and today is a significant milestone for us. The key to having commercial products using Graphenes is the ability to homogeneously disperse it into the host material. We are especially pleased that the performance can be achieved with no metal additives. Today, our annual production capability of graphene nano materials is 1 tonne, but is scheduled to increase substantially this year in response to known demand. The ability to address the conductive ink market now, with a new Graphene product has been achieved through close collaboration with a specialist ink manufacturer. It is exactly that type of association we are seeking across a range of manufacturing sectors where our graphene technology can be applied using our patented technology." I am a novice in the graphene area any advice? Should I have a small punt and what are the best plays.
