EBT milestones based on "undiluted" market cap is normal. But that doesn’t mean dilution lowers the target - in most cases it actually increases the share price required to reach the same market cap, depending on structure imo!

Nobody said the WFE acquisition was new.

The point was that today’s RNS still relates to shares being formally issued pursuant to that acquisition and confirms 80M now owns 98.82% of WFE.

You are entitled to dislike EBTs. Others are entitled to view near total ownership of a strategic energy asset as positive.

Those two things are not mutually exclusive - despite the daily theatrical outrage.

You are mixing up separate issues.

The RNS explicitly states the 6.5m shares were issued as consideration for acquiring an additional 2.18% of WFE - not an EBT award.

Calling 0.13% dilution “shareholder destruction” is a stretch when no discounted placing was involved and 80M increased ownership of a strategic asset to 98.82%.

Simplifying ownership structures ahead of drilling/activity is completely normal.

People can debate management all day long - but the actual RNS facts matter.

If 0.13% dilution to move from 95.46% to 98.82% ownership of a strategic asset is now being framed as corporate destruction, then some people have stopped analysing RNSs and started auditioning for pantomime.

This is effectively a very small clean-up dilution to take 80m closer to full ownership of White Flame Energy.

That suggests they are tidying up the cap table and moving toward near total control.

The issuance itself is not the sort of placing dilution that usually damages sentiment. No discounted cash raise was announced here.

Existing holders are only diluted very marginally.

Interesting timing too - companies usually consolidate ownership before they believe the asset value could materially increase.

Even with Colin Bird steering, the market prefers a bird in hand - not a whole flock of promises..

People dismiss frontier exploration… until a discovery is made.

Halliburton involvement tells you the project is serious enough operationally, technical due diligence has likely been done, and the explorer can attract top-tier contractors.

The oilfield giants do not waste time on projects they view as fantasy, imo.

If commercial hydrocarbons are confirmed, the entire valuation framework changes overnight.

That said, markets have a habit of declaring things “done” right before an unexpected twist arrives. Until the ink is dry, I’ll keep a small reserve of cautious optimism.

For what it’s worth, I’d rather be early and slightly irritated than late and expensive.

It just means the legal framework allows for competing bids to be considered

fiduciary duties to evaluate superior offers if they appear.

But that’s very different from the Huayou side agreement clause we were discussing, which is more specific and economically linked, imo.

So yes - it keeps the door open, but it doesn’t itself signal that a competing bid is forming.

Possibly, although that disclosure wording is fairly standard. The more interesting part for me remains the specific clause covering any change in Scheme Consideration within 3 months.
