There are two stages to look for from SC perspective:
1) from lithium concentrate to final lithium product is going to be produced in China. The input will be charged at market value as agreed in the off take agreement between kod and SC. this is SC business. what matters for them is the quality/price.
2) the production of lithium concentrate by kod is our main concern: we are constrained by cost of production and transport and the market prices. If this stage is too profitable then I can not see SC allowing other share holders to finance the production and get this high profits. It the profit is next to zero I can't see the market offering cash to build the plant, but SC would be happy to do so, at least it provides jobs for its staff who will be responsible for delivering quality. the profit will come from the next stage 'final product'.
So in both cases all those figures published by kod will have small impact on the broad market, but it will have substantial effect on BA bargaining power. FS will be used to get more value for share holders, SC, they know they have more staff in the ground to compensate for any expenditure.
Positive FS is surely an added value for shareholders.

daza, from the Malian side, MLL was their first experience in this field, kod permit may be processed in a shorter period. From BA speeches, he said after getting permit things will move faster from there. I think he meant they are not going to wait till they get the permit to start working on some preparations. they may even draft a contract subject to getting permit. So work between SC and BA has already started as they have all the needed information by now. If SC steps in and provide a loan for kod to continue digging, that will be a major sign we have to look for.

if we lodge the Mining permit by mid Jan, as promised, then by mid Mar we get the confirmation SC is in or out. From BA tone I can only guess that 2020 is a promising year in deed. SC can't risk it to delay production and miss the early bonanza or lithium prices surge. Kod has the purest form of lithium that is available in the market, lithium brine is not going to deliver as promised. So mid March is the real test here. I am very positive on SC financing the project this year.

by the look of it , BA and SC took the decision one year ago to push for land grab and production. They spent valuable cash and time in this direction. Exploration can continue in line with production. This situation was clear to BA as to whom is going to finance the production as he does not expect the market to supply £ 70m or more on partially available information. going to investors meetings is a must even if he is sure SC will finance the project, as it is still not a disclosed or binding contract. It is all dependent on FS, if it is convincing to SC I don't think SC would allow others to supply goods they intend to buy. financing the project from the wider market require more digging and time before we get any cash.
We hope BA is aware of what is he doing with SC, and he understands their intentions right, as this is a turning point for kodal and BA alike. The market will not back a manager who can fall victim to his partners, as this is far from sending a positive sign.
Lithium index is still gaining ground. kodal could make a kill by benefiting from price surge next year.

good news, at least we got rid of the sample processing delays. Soon all the cards will be visible. SC, BA, shareholders will have the opportunity to see each other face to face. It is the moment of truth.

BA is confident SC will help with building the plant otherwise he will not confirm in his last podcast that 2020 will be an exiting year for kod shareholders. try to see the positive side of the situation. sp means nothing for negotiations between BA and SC, they both know what is in the ground and they are negotiating on those terms. News of filling the mining permit will have no impact on sp unless figure are unexpectedly high??. we all now that BA needs cash for going concern soon. This cash will not come unless SC is fully committed to financing the plant, and this commitment is made public, not inferred from BA speeches. So it is time to make or brake. I hope BA is working on this during this lengthy delay.

your problem daza is that you do not understand the argument and you make your mind on the first impression. try to look at things from different angles. I said old technologies, I did not say old equipment. as I don't see any complexity in providing: conveyor belts, crasher, pumps, and some drums and electric engines: there are a lot of providers there, plants are not made in factories they are built in sites. stop worrying Mr Manr... for nothing.

do you think that alitas is the only producer of this plants? what sort of complex technology they possess? It is a combinations of some old technologies. Kod don't have to worry about this problem at all.
The main issue is how match SC is going to pay for the mine.

daza, I thought the process is continuous and they need to stop it and run it on our sample to prevent contamination 'mixing up with their staff', otherwise there is no obstacle to process it night or day as we are not going to ask for final product. all we need is an assessment of the results.
plant wise, I think it will be a move, move, move as the Chinese army of workers will be on site.

The sample can't just being destroyed. It is hard rock and need to be pulverized at the plant to be processed. No weather degradation is likely to happen here. any way we have the lab results and the plant results are always going to be around that figure.
This type of tests are likely to be designed by a statistician and controlled by them and results analysed. so the controls where there before digging them out and marking each batch before loading. The fact that they are 1/5 of what was designed means more care has to be applied to process them.
It is the hardest time for BA, SC and share holders as it involves serious decision making in the next few weeks hopefully.

daza, here is what have caused the sample processing delay:
In normal processing time, if the plant is able to process 1 ton a day then 5 tons would have taken five days. in this case we expect the first day output to be contaminated by previous input as the plant work continuously, the second day output would be less contaminated so we have 3 non contaminated samples left that shows fluctuations caused by the differences by the rock content. from this clean samples we could work out a statistics with confidence interval to show our level of confidence in the output. In our case the sample is only 1 ton, this means may be they have to delay it till they have a maintenance period where they can run it afterward without the risk of contamination, as the plant is clean. so I guess they are waiting for one of these maintenance periods.
The other thing that may cause delay is the fact that BA has to put an end to the illicit relation with SC and come with a clear commitment from SC to show to the market or to move us forward towards production. any news that do not show this commitment is not interesting to the market or share holders alike.
