RE: Treat first patients towards the end of 20229 Dec 2022 18:28
Kenj I was only pointing out that, nothing sinister, taking warrants to sweeten the deal as a future return speaks volumes on what they have looked at in their due diligence.
Cant believe this drop after full mev, not looked in for a while, wish I hadn't now. They may need to look at alternative funding going forward if they can't produce some news to get the sp back up.
I'm sure they will get to a point in the process where they will start pushing the commercial side of things. I think it was said not to long ago in an rns that we will be ready for first patient treatment when needed and that it was down to the Birmingham hospital to bring their game to the table regarding first patient.
The question regarding sales and future sales were put to them at the presentation a couple of weeks ago. The reply was "at the moment we only have three sales staff" and that the focus was very much on getting the machine fine tuned and everything ready for first patient. Let's be honest with our selves here, it's not ground breaking or disruptive until its proven to be capable of actually doing what it says on the tin. That goal gets ever closer. A bit like the first 30mins last night and then bang three cracking goals :)
Back in this afternoon, sorry peeps it could now go even lower :(. Boiler is being fitted as I type, need these to go up now so I can afford to switch it on :)
Slow burner up until first patient treatment and then the orders should start to grow.
Forgot to mention last week that a facility has to be built at the side of the building/tower that houses the machine to provide pre treatment and changing facilities which has to meet the Birmingham hospital specifications. Not a big project but something that has to be done.

Wallace4 I know its frustrating regarding pop ups it does seem to have got worse lately, it is unfortunately the way they generate income to make providing the information worth while.
164 would be nice but I think the market seems to have come to the conclusion for the time being is that ok you have a working machine now what are you going to do with it.
With all these strange large trades going through each day you would think we would be due an holdings rns.
A good few years ago it was said each cruise ship docked is worth Β£1m to the local economy in Southampton and that's why they kicked off when Liverpool got funding for a new cruise terminal, the funding was returned.
Hi max, vanilla and Ken. Just to put it into a comparison with legacy machines they are now working on getting the maximum amount of protons into the beam which is 1mm compared to 3mm delivered to the tumour. With legacy machines it can be as low as 2% reaching the tumour after being slowed down for depth of treatment.
Talking to one of the avo attendees about sp they are as bemused as we are with the drop after coming so far and being so close to the end game. Also the low price could affect future fund raises so I think they need to get the sp back up fairly quickly. Nicholas did say if funding became an issue when asked said the machine does have a significant value that could be borrowed against but not a route they want go down as they want to keep debt levels down as low as possible.
Questions were asked about sales going forward and partnering up with companies especially in America. Good and what I thought were honest answers were given without any fluff, basically yes we have a full working machine but it has to now be fine tuned for future machines to conform to and then you can go with confidence selling the full package and not something half finished, that's way it came across to me. Competing against others purely came down to it's cheaper to install and cheaper to treat patients by a country mile. Again that's my own take on things. Other questions were asked on the tour regarding treatment etc. A good day enjoyed it and was made very welcome.
At the end of the first part of the presentation the MD of the STFC said a few words about what they do and who they do it for, about being world leaders at STFC. He said they are the centre for particle acceleration in this country and that they have tried two or three times in the past to achieve what AVO have done and failed, quite an endorsement.
I think these presentations were more about showcasing the machine now it's up to full speed and providing information to anyone not familiar with the company. Just to put anyone invested here in the picture regarding time scales and the lack of updates etc in the past would soon realise how wrong we have been, as soon as you see the complexities involved it makes you and as many did yesterday go wow. Forgetting the machine and just looking at the technology and everything that has to be conformed to is off the chart for staters and then the machine and the workings which are in a room above are extraordinary. Hats off to them.
I made the journey, very impressive piece of kit, I can now see where the time scales can slip. It was a good presentation overall, a lot we already know from past updates so not to much to get excited about.
