Nige-W.If by gift tax you mean inheritance tax,you and your wife(assuming you have one)have a nil band allowance of £650K which is exempt from IT.Anything above that can be left to charity which is exempt from IT.Better still, spend it while you are alive.Alternatively give it to the kids now,and as long as you live another 7 years this too will be IT exempt.Best of luck.Anybody.
Agree with you Bamps, that's why I have just closed my Nationwide account. You can still get 1.25%+ if you look around.Don't let them get away with it,keep closing low interest accounts.
Waiting for the recession to really bite, then I will buy back into TW.
ERV1-How can they carry on working without materials?A lot of builders merchants have had to close.Don't know about brick manufacturers, but you still need sand and cement to lay bricks.Lots of different components needed to build a house.Absolutely impossible to carry on building until things return to normal, whenever that might be.
Hi northernisler.
In answer to your question,I would recommend Ocado and Dignitas. Can't go wrong.
Sold my shares last Friday. No point holding on to the death. The end result will be the same.
Hi Troublesome. The way things are going there won't be anyone left to dig your grave.I would dig it yourself now if I were you.Enjoy your coffee.P.S.You could always self-immolate on a pyre of TW share certificates !! Wouldn't cost a lot.
Agree with you TomE.I got out @ £2.00 after the last election.Glad I did,and made a nice profit after holding the shares for 5 years. The market is not the place to be right now, although I don't think anyone could have seen this coming.
Maybe AA are buying up as many of the shares as they can before court approval later this month. At the end of the day they will be paying for them anyway.I cannot see why any investor would be buying these shares at the present time.
Why are these shares still being traded?
What happens to our shares now?Do they automatically get cancelled and the money repatriated to us,or do we have to issue an instruction to our broker to sell them?Or do they get converted into Anglo shares?I would like to know.
Hi,Nige.Housebuilderrs are not a safe haven when people start losing their jobs and can't afford to buy houses.C19 strikes, key workers get quarantined, building sites become ghost towns.Supplies start to dry up,and with it demand.Think about it.
