“ Council tax also is deducted from your net salary (not gross). Which means almost everyone is paying 20-50% more than they realise. For example, if you pay £2.0k council tax, you're actually paying £2.4k to £4.0k (not £2.0k).”
My mum (bless her) has paid income tax, national insurance, council tax, VAT, car tax, you name it she’s paid it, all her life, she’s now paying £1600 cash per week to be cared for, some could argue tough luck, the saving grace is - she and we will never pay inheritance tax because there will be nowt left.
