So many people (like your mate Bloomers) assume because they have a gas boiler that in a power cut they still have an heating system, forgetting completely they have electric circulation pumps which also go off.

In a power cut, with an electric heat pump and a gas fired boiler - you are screwed.

The house was built 20 years ago, so reasonable insulation, I’ve doubled up in the loft. My windows could do with being replaced, they are original.

I have a Daikin 14KW going like the clappers holding my 5 bed house at 21 degrees, night and day, I had 17 radiators replaced, I had a bigger (300 litre) unvented hot water tank installed, all new mains controls, it cost me £3807

my energy bill (electric only) currently is £265 per month, I no longer have explosive, poisonous gas in my house, thank god.

Someone in the CON government had a really good idea to give every home in the UK £5000 towards replacing their poisonous gas boiler.

somebody else in the CON government had a better idea to increase it to £7500, you could not make it up.

Heat pumps are amazing and the fact the CONS gave me £7500 towards it makes it one of my best INVESTMENTS ever.
