@fluffyjoe finally someone who understands the importance of SEO in relation to domain names and their valuations.
Chill.com is a good example with two valuations below:
(1) Static For Sale holding page with no traffic income = £500K, this was how the bod bought the domain name but decided for whatever reason to pay £1.6M, or
(2) Optimized for first page on every search engine earning an income of £1M per year = £5M plus, the more income there is the more the domain is worth which is why the domains previously mentioned have very high sold prices because they were earning Millions to begin with.
Chill.com was sold with no income which is why I was surprised it cost so much.
Now if the bod can generate a substantial income in the Millions (tough order but possible) selling their products via the website then there's no reason why the domain name and therefore the company can't be worth £10's of Millions.
