Some good points raised. Here today8 Feb 2018 15:55
Peekayokay, I agree with your points, as we all know from political promises, they are barely good enough to cover the term they are serving. Never mind 10, 20+ years from now. And what about the cost of electric cars. Its taken Tesla years to get to the model 3, which has always been the goal of the company, to make an affordable family electric car. Well Im a huge Tesla fan, but the model 3 is expected to sell for approx 35k. There are other manufacturers of course, but nobody is close to the cost of diesel or petrol cars. This would be a big enough issue for developed countries with a strong economy. What about developing countries.... 35k for a car may as well be 35m !!!
Then we have planes, plastics and just about everything in between that require oil.
Just for clarity, Im a huge electric car advocate and Id have a model 3 in a second. But I dont have 35k (its tied up here).
I just dont see us moving away from oil in the transport sector for a very long time.
Just my own thoughts on the matter. ATB
