If they don't even hold a controlling stake in Zinnwald, I can't see them keeping it. As Malik said, perhaps we should buy it. Regardless, I reckon it'll be sold on.

I suppose there might be an alternative analysis to be made: Everyone knows that Sonora was a bit of a duffer because it's complex and expensive to extract Li from clay. So why did Ganfeng buy it? There must be loads of easier targets around the world. Well to acquire Zinnwald. Which would put a different complexion on things. I still think though that they'll be stopped from going further. The EU may seem clunky. That's inevitable given it involves coordinating the actions of 27 countries. But it can move in rapid and nuanced ways sometimes. Which is why solutions to problems seem always to magically emerge at the last minute.

Ganfeng won't be allowed to go further imo. The lesson was learned a couple of years back when they bought that German robotics company. I reckon they'll flog Zinnwald and use the proceeds to pay for Sonora. Maybe even simply sell on the open market. There's a while to go before this deal is agreed and much can happen before then. You can bet there's a lot of flustered talking going on behind closed doors.

For heaven's sake, Zinnwald isn't that significant that it'll 'cripple' the EU EV industry. But it must indeed be a wake up call.

One is the OTC 'Pink' market (OTC stands for 'over the counter' I believe), whereas the other is the Nasdaq International market, which is different and separate. The OTC is the more junior market.

I'm afraid I'm completely muddled about all these cross company, incestuous relationships. And have no idea. All I do is wait for the EMH price to rise. Although I have an instinctive mistrust of Cadence. (Could they buy ZNWD? I mean there are so many bloody possibilities and permutations....)

Where are ZNWD currently intending to process ore? Because a combined operation would enable ore from both operations to be processed in EMH' plant, reducing costs. Assuming that wasn't already the plan.

Malik, if you're right, then we can probably expect the transaction to be more than purely commercial... the EU will pile in to make sure what happens is in Europe's interest. So if EMH did make a move, perhaps it would be with a little financial oil from our Brussels friends.

I suspect someone in Germany will move on it. VW maybe. Would work well with the Skoda/CEZ battery operations. Although I'd have thought VW would want a majority stake.

yes I think this could result in upwards price pressure for us. God to see corporate action finally starting.

Poor old Bacanorites are fuming. Their share price is now effectively capped until at least June, and there's a story that a recent placing at 45p was deliberately arranged to make 67.5p look good. Perhaps they'll all sell up and buy in here. I've suggested that they should.

Take the cash and put it into EMH :-)
