It's not fair to expect the company to be run without the ability to raise funds. And we wouldn't be where we are if they hadn't been raised. There's also absolutely no reason to assume a fund raise is imminent. There many never be another one.... but expecting AS or anyone else to run things without the ability to raise money at short notice is asking them to fight with one arm tied behind their backs.

So don't be afraid of fund raising. All companies do it. All that's at issue here is the [rice at which it's done.

AS is wrong to say that Tern should be valued according to historic NAV, if indeed he is insisting on that as some claim he is. Tern is listed on the stock market. It's the market that determines Tern's value, not an accountant. To use NAV is surely to create a false market, which I believe is illegal?

If a fund raise is needed, it should take place at a percentage discount to whatever share price the market has established for Tern (it's mcap), which it will do according to Tern's perceived commercial potential, which is huge.

Bearing in mind of course that an asset sale could come at any time, rendering any fundraising unnecessary. And also remembering that the phenomenal value we see in Tern today - with majority stakes in two of the investees and large percentages in the others (compare that with Pires and Vela) - is there solely because tern have raised funds in the past. Personally I think it's now time to sell an asset, and move forward. That's likely to happen soon imo. We'll see.

What placing? When? No one has said there will be a placing. The Board have asked for the ability to raise funds via a placing if they need to. That's not the same thing at all. And they're right. They need that ability, or we risk losing part of our holdings in one of the investees, should that investee suddenly need an injection of funds. That's the nature of this incubator game.

All that's to debate is how such a placing, if it were to happen, should take place. That needs to be stipulated, and the process needs to be defined so as to avoid just the scenario that sweepie says people are predicting. It's not hard. A placing at a fixed discount to the share price. And nothing else.

You can't have them removed from advfn, but if they go too far, and if enough people complain, LSE will bar them. One of the reasons I use LSE is that they seem prepared to police their boards.

Yes I c an understand the crypto angle, although that would apply to all stocks. I hink your second point about timing is more relevant. I seem to have a habit of investing in stocks several years too soon. My second largest holding (IoT, cybersecurity, VR training), which I invested in 5 years ago, is only now starting to take off.

Mining stocks have this problem though. They are long term projects. They need cash from the beginning but only start to make money after a long time. And people hold off investing until that money is coming in, or at least is guaranteed to. I suppose also that EMH and other miners need proper long term holders, and so many people on the markets these days are short term traders.

But one thing I like about EMH is that it is relatively safe. Nothing is ever guaranteed, but of all the mining projects in the world, this has to be one of the safest to be invested in. It is given that there will be offtake agreements. And the mine economics are looking great. As is the potential production capacity. It's going to be a Goliath of a mine in the energy metals sector.

..why this is so cheap. I'd top up only it's already my biggest holding by far.

Yes, E86 and E861. I'm in E86. I did know the difference years ago but I've forgotten. Knowing my luck, I'm in the wrong one :-) I think E86 are shares and E861 are Chess Depository Interests - an Australian device to enable international purchasers. Something like that. It's a different system in Germany. As far as I can work out, each city exchange is equivalent to a market maker on the AIM, and you can buy on one exchange and sell on another. Prices tend to be very sensitive and move quickly. Easiest option is to buy on Tradegate. They don't always have the best prices but often seem to have the narrowest spread.

'Borsenplatze' lists all the exchanges, and 'Times and Sales' (next down plus one) lists trades for whatever exchange is selected at the top.
