Have worked for NWG for 21 years, but due to abysmal share performance over the majority of this period, I have steered clear of share saves and BAYE. Thankfully, I am now making some decent returns on my options (my £1.12 3 year matured in December), and it feels like holding cash here is worthwhile again!
So what if bonuses are higher! We should cheer that the bank is finally in this strong financial position. Higher profits, higher share price. Good for us PI’s as well as the government. The more they can get back for selling their tranche, the better for the tax payer.
Inflation has fallen again in the U.S. maybe it’s positive sentiment pushing the price up, which fell partly due to rising inflation? Even more reason to hold this quality company now!
Offer from Uber ‘ Buy one coach ticket, save big on the next. Get 15% back in Uber Credits when you book a National Express trip via the Uber app’
The offer allows credits to be spent on future coach trips. Good to see this tie-up in action which will no doubts get more bums on seats!
Good that ticket prices are reflecting the reality and current climate of higher costs, wages, etc. Punters have to grin and bear it unfortunately, but at least most services are running and they go about their business.
More like they’re down 50% on their holding, lol

Testing the trainline app. No option to purchase a £38.50 single ticket to Manchester on Xmas Eve, due to the strike, it does however offer an alternative coach ticket for just £21 - go NEX!
Lol. I’ll get the lowdown, although I can say, living off a major trunk road from the south into Birmingham city centre, I’ve definitely seen seen an uplift in the amount of National Express coaches coming through weekly, that on top of NEX minibuses, and your general Travel WM. The share price can languish, but these vehicles are being used and by a growing level of passengers across the brand. GLA
That’d be the perfect Christmas present to myself
I’m in the office next week so will be contributing to NEX’s revenue by catching the No50 to work (it follows one of the busiest bus routes in Europe). Just doing my bit for us shareholders :)
Helen needs to get her purse out again.
I did my bit yesterday and purchased a last minute Xmas card for a friend. 20% off in the app too. Win for me and Moonpig will still make a tidy margin on that. This share has been relentlessly shorted, but no doubts there will be a rocket boost to this price as soon as RM compromise and end strike action. Don’t want to miss the boat for that!
‘National Express slammed into reverse over fears of a hit from inflation, interest rates and wage pressures across the Atlantic.
Shares in the coach operator, which have languished around 44pc this year, tumbled 6.5pc, or 10p, to 143.8p after City analysts painted a bleak picture.
Peel Hunt lowered its rating on the stock to ‘hold’ from ‘buy’ and cut its target price to 175p from 270p, saying it could be squeezed by costly wage settlements in the UK and North America.
Its North America school bus division has been hampered by driver shortages sparking unprecedented levels of wage inflation’
As cited in the Mail today. Didn’t help too that the market was down overall. NEX unfairly pummelled IMO

He’s going to complete every route FFS
Horrible seeing this fall. However, it also offers an amazing entry point if you have the funds! Easy to see how NEX could become a target
