The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
LoL yep. Ex div again in November. Think there will be more good news eg Spain, maybe even a major deal with e& if they keep going..
'also the possibility of increasing our stake to 20%," Dowidar said.'
They get a 2nd non exec on the board if they increase their stake over 20%.
'It was a US gap open cover. No more chasing for algos below here."
Technically that's interesting and i suppose explains the retrace.
e& reiteration and Germany definitely recovering driving beyond any day trades imo.
Spain news next with a host of PE interests although a telefonica merger might be the EU preference.
A hold or buy. Trading for bt or Lloyds etc ex div is too risky for me..
Friday is dividend day. Tuscany is calling LoL

Great stuff. Top and bottom line impact
15m+ contracts. Fantastic. Had to look twice after walking the dog. Kicks in on top of the initiative pipeline we knew about. Just great timing too.
Div on Friday.
Come on VOD SP. Quickly back above £1 and then 180 by xmas.
E& consolidated revenues rise 1.1% to AED 26.6 billion in H1 2023.
Investing in business in central and eastern europe
https://wam.ae/en/details/1395303183050
10.66% dividend. Crikey, even higher if the SP drops.
No prospect of this business (with €155Bn assets across 190 countries) drying up in the next 5 years.
Let the reported cash flow and outlook speak for itself. Ignore the SP if you are in long term imho
The IMF calls it financial repression. Lots of example where Banks have to cooperate. Banks that fail to cooperate dont get grace and favour from the central bank as their loan portfolios increase.
VOD caught in the process over the last 5 years via the hedging industry. If MDV gets her plan right, VOD could bounce hard, but take the dividend while we wait for the tipping point
Roofer, 79.6 next week and 180 end of year please
Fleccy thks, I take your word for it.
Next weeks prophecy should be interesting. SP cum div or is it included in todays SP now BlackRock closed those financial instruments/ holding the stock directly.
So, if there are any personality changes of posters on this BB and their view on VOD outlook, it might not be early signs of dementia?
So BlackRock reduced from 5.1% 2 weeks ago and now increased to 5.6%. Presumably that's to do with the reweighting of the NAS index.
Wonder if E&, Malone and Niel still holding. Positive ?

* Overall accretive trend for Service Revenues
MDV knows exactly where the business is, the momentum and the uptick. It was her job 5 years ago to make VOD simpler. She is executing now with a huge reserve in her back pocket of €155Bn of assets to optimise the outcome. She understands the incremental benefits of digitalisation and the business segments (Business) that can execute against the VOD technology portfolio and customers. She has brought Luka in from SAP knowing the model required to financially operationalise the glide path and navigate regulatory and statutory protocols.
This is is the start of the recovery and I am staying in.

'Vodafone takes 'first steps' in turnaround with top-line improvement'
LONDON, July 24 (Reuters) - Vodafone (VOD.L) reported better top-line growth on Monday, driven by higher prices in Britain and improvements in Germany, Italy and Spain, marking a positive start for new Chief Executive Margherita Della Valle's turnaround plan.
The European and African telecoms group also said it had appointed former SAP (SAPG.DE) chief financial officer, Luka Mucic, to the same role at Vodafone, beginning on Sept. 1.

Thats a good update and confirmation VOD can deliver guidance.
Lots of opportunities and initiatives in the pipeline.
I like the CFO appointment too.
Just need to hold tight now. Just as hard when the SP is going up LoL
'An important conversation for Vodafone, considering the role that our connectivity and digital services can play in providing a solid foundation for economic growth across all sectors in every corner of the UK and driving technology innovation. I am looking forward to continue the productive discussion.'
MDV and Rishi

77.3p for me please roofer
MDV presented this at the FY with a near term action plan on pages 10, 11, 12.
So I guess she will be reporting more of the execution details and maybe a big win or two. Main thing for me is to maintain the outlook current course and speed which translates to maintaining the dividend in Nov..
While we havent heard anything recently on E&, we also havent heard anything from Liberty Gobal (Malone) or Iliad (Niel). I suppose that has a dependency on the CMA and 3 VOD UK decision (and EU/BEREC dragging its feet on 3 O2) but recently Rishi has invited MDV to talk about what he can do move things along in the Telco world...
Would be icing on the cake if there are no show stoppers and the market can move on and up with the 11% dividend.

In terms of what she is doing with the group, the simplified group structure on the IR website suggests the centres of management control and performance are broken out into Germany Italy and UK, Rest of Europe including Turkey, Vodacom and subsidiaries and then Vantage.
So something to say on the recent proceeds from Vantage sale €0.5Bn.
Maybe something to say on Spain and JPM who have been working on options for a few months. Often an RNS follows the reporting date for regulatory reasons but perhaps thats for H1.

Anyways, I am in because I cant get out LoL
MDV has prepared already with the 3 UK merger and Rishi with the trans Pacific trade deal
I invested my dividend this morning. Actual div payday something else
