Using a creaky car analogy, AML appear to have simply released the hand brake from the SP.

Many people suggested ‘forces’ at work to deliver a pre-consolidation price of almost exactly 70p.

Since then, there hasn’t been any ‘good news’ stories released to boost the post-consolidation SP.

And, unfortunately, both Covid and Brexit still have a hand to play in what remains of 2020. :-(

My investment in AML has been text book cautious and I try not to “what if” using hindsight.

Yet, using ‘new money’, it is still hard to believe my last (small) top up on 21/10/20 had a £9.71 SP.

As here we are, less than two months later, with a SP of £16.28. { Thumbs Up }

Honestly, there is no ‘price jump’ from 70p to £14.

AML’s Market Capitalisation has not changed from Friday to Monday.
(Give or take today’s SP moves.)

At Friday’s consolidated close… 250 x £14.17 = £3,542

@Onlyacouple - Don't know about Trading 212, but this is the message I got from X-O on Monday, 7th Dec.
By the sounds of it, this will happen automatically, so I can only assume that it will be the same for 212.

@Doyezee – I think Monday will depend on whether Sunday is a ‘real’ Brexit deadline or not.
Obviously, a deal would give everything a boost.
But, there may also be some relief that a ‘no deal’ removes uncertainty.
As at least everyone would know what to expect in 2021, one way or the other.

@Pupper – If they do let it drift down, it is certainly worth bearing your theory in mind.
Which would also tie back to the timing of releasing any positive news in 2020.

My guess (& that’s all it is) is to stop lazy journalists referring to the original AML £19 float price.

In the same way that references to AML going bankrupt 7 times needs to be put into context.
(4 times before the start of WWII, twice in the 70s and I can’t even find when the 7th time was.)

Apart from the name (as mentioned the other day), how is today’s AML comparable to pre-war AML?

In exactly the same way that AML can hold a £15 pre-consolidation price of £0.75. { Wink }
( Assuming the market shares your view that AML has “No profits and burning cash like mad.” )

The AML Market Capitalisation is the same pre & post consolidation.

So, as of close of play today, the market thinks AML can hold a price of £16.

The AML growth will come (we hope) from an increase in the Market Capitalisation value.

So, don't look for the number of companies with SP > £20, look for those with higher M.Cap.

If you do this, there are a LOT of companies trading on the FTSE with a Market Cap. > AML’s £1.8bn.

Note: AML £1.8bn value today, should (we hope) be exactly the same after consolidation.

@Orbiter1 – In the UK, most of November 2020 was part of Lockdown 2.

So, UK car dealers were restricted to ‘Click & Collect’ sales during this month.

Which would make any market with showrooms actually fully open more important in Nov.20.

Given Covid as a whole, I’m not convinced 2019 vs. 2020 comparisons are really ‘like for like’.
