The State of Affairs.........12 Feb 2022 09:35
........I was one of the first people on the AVCT board back in 2020 stating that if they didn't get their test to market by the end of summer 2020, then they had missed the boat to make the kind of money that had slowly been built into their market cap. While I still think covid testing, both antigen and antibody will be used around the world in certain situations, there's no doubt there is a real possibility that if Omicron is the last covid variant of concern, then we will see usage taper off, possibly more so for antigen than antibody testing.
I went cold on almost all covid companies at the end of 2020, when it became quite apparent all the British companies had well and truly missed the boat. The difference with ABDX for me is the fact that the market cap is so low, and the fact they are a manufacturer. Very little success has ever been priced in to this, except perhaps in the first few months of it trading.
ABDX is actually very different to all the other companies in the UK. I'll state it again, they have a massive manufacturing facility. This is something ABDX never had until recently. They've focused on covid, but they can very easily change their focus to manufacturing anything. In spite of covid perhaps being over (I doubt very much it is), there is still room for them to get a contract to manufacture a few million covid tests here and there, and that alone would be enough to cover a large percentage of their current market cap.
They've stated they're changing direction, and again, they're now in a position as a large scale manufacturer, to make any test, that any customer requires. They are no doubt on the cusp of branching out as stated in their previous RNS releases, and a few small contracts would again cover a large percentage of their current market cap.
The hard part has been done, they've built a massive facility, cash burn should be levelling off and decreasing slightly from last year now. Now it's just a case of making use of what they have, they are not in any way dependent upon covid, and have plenty of time to start raking in serious revenue from other manufacturing contracts, even more so one the government coughs up what it owes.
Contrary to what people are saying here. ABDX is not a dead duck, it's not totally left wandering in the wilderness like ODX, AVCT and GDR. ABDX has the capacity to generate serious near terms revenue, unlike the rest of the British covid companies which are essentially finished now.
