FAO OPHIDEAN.....BUY or SELL17 Jan 2020 00:23
Ophidean. Sir; you appear to be very knowledgeable re whether a trade is (or should be ) listed as a buy or sell. I, and I am sure many others on here, would appreciate your thoughts on the query below, if and when you have the time to respond. Many thanks in advance.
The following is copied from my brokers website
"You may be surprised to hear that when you trade a share that’s listed on the London Stock Exchange (LSE), your trade doesn’t actually go to the LSE. Instead, your order will be placed with a Retail Service Provider (RSP), also known as a market maker."
I look on this website and also A**** , others obviously look elsewhere, to view the trades listed, and much has been made about trades being incorrectly reported ie buys as sells, sells as buys. Could I ask, who actually provides the detail re the trade being a "buy" or "sell", and why is it that whoever provides that information is allowed to provide false and wrong information. Am I not correct in thinking that every time a trade is made, the "buy" or "sell" button must be clicked on at some stage of the transaction, and in this day and age with the capabilities of computers, should automatically repeat and declare the correct information to be published. Why are they allowed to get away with it , and can nothing be done about it? The FCA are generally considered to be as much use as a chocolate tea-pot , but surely the Trading Standards Office should be able to do something about it.
