Tax arises in the jurisdiction it is earned. The award, if ever, will pay Italian tax. No UK EPL. Same with Falklands , low local tax there is part of the appeal of the place. Nothing in it for HMRC surely ?

I am sure you are right cyan2, but having a debtor on your book and having cash on the book are two different things; the bailiff could spend forever trying to collect the award from a sovereign state in crisis, long beyond when the cash is needed for investment.

Hard to know. But it did not arrest the rise in both bid and ask, and there were a few large trades after that which suggest buy side momentum. So whatever, but I am struggling to understand how a market maker can maintain a short position in a stock (ref Ophidian 18.47) like this for many days without defaulting on his sales ledger or buying at any price ( short squeeze). The short counter party will be saying " where are my shares" Surely there are no shares out on loan for a small cap volatile stock ?

That message was there last time I looked a week or so ago. It's a bit useless if you bought your shares through an online trading account, as most people do these days.
