All I can add to the comment is that you are remarkably uninformed about industry. As this group of companies is heavily in to high energy usage, it may be worth your while to do a bit more study, rather than come back with comments only designed to reassure yourself. IMO

Facts are facts. The period of weather last winter that reduced wind and solar output to virtually zero placed huge demands on gas for electricity generation. You have to appreciate that modern tile production requires gas on a huge scale, and that the kiln can not be starved of gas at all, otherwise it would sustain huge damage. If power production demands the gas to keep the lights on, then factories will be told to cool down and switch off, that's in government plans. Smelting operations are vanishing from Europe because they can't take the risk. Good news for China and India, who have a sensible coal powered baseload policy.

Germany is obliged by treaties to share with other EU countries, and UK. We have no storage, neither does Italy, and their ceramic industry consume it at massive scale. Ask a factory manager, they are bricking it, and expect to be restricted this winter

Only two days of winter could reverse the gas sitiation, they have so little storage, and they have paid so much for it that local suppliers will not use the daily price.
Maybe the shorters know how critical energy will be this winter, it's cynical but the EU have created this mess.

Hope Kievsky, and others who attended, had a good meeting. It would be interesting to know whether DSM will retain a board seat or not. Is it possible that ByHealth will be represented in future?

They have talked about the headwinds in today's report, you must recognise that. As I understand it, the gas price shock, especially for Italian producers, represented a "force majeur", meaning that existing agreements were trashed. the whole industry has been warning its customers of emergency increases, and slowdown of production, all year long. Worst case will be, if the winter period is harsh, that major gas users get told to switch off. that's the level of potential risk, ignore it at your own risk.

That's the world I occupy, and it's not a bunker, it's one where folks try to see thing ahead of the masses. Politicians have been taking Europe on a path to disaster for years, responding to dubiously funded activists. The outcome is energy at too high a price, with poor reliability, badly affecting commercia high energy users IMHO

Maybe you should get checked out, as far as I can see this is a text only platform.

If I had one, I'd have to consider whether the "headwinds" were something enough naive investors would ignore, and pile in.

Thing is Hawkboulder, if you're bearish about a sector, then you are. I don't see things soaring for their producers, I do see headwinds for them. I do wonder if production will be moved to other countries where energy is cheaper, but that's a very long term thing.

I agree with you Gix, DSM are very far from walking away from Fruitflow. Clearly there have become many more facets to the usefulness of the ingredient, creating their new role of developing premix and MRS. The issue with DSM is that Fruitflow is a tiny part of a huge catalogue, with nobody in particular tasked with driving it forwards. To even get a mention in a sales conference was an achievement. Fully focussed sales planning will be a benefit if we can work with brands direct, but it's a massive task without doubt. By Health is clearly the most attractive route toa mass market IMHO
