They are trying to pay less for the shares that they just sold them for. They can only do this if people wish to sell, otherwise they will be left having to walk the price back up in the afternoon in the hope that this unveils some sellers.

However, they risk digging themselves a deeper hole if the price rises attract further buyers in....

All sides are getting their complaints in first but I expect the charter will pass, but importantly will stay unchanged and not tinkered with every couple of years. This of course is the stability that is needed to allow investment decisions to be made. A couple of groups generally complaining about the patriarchal nature of the mining sector is not going to change the charter.

Sanchez - I recall that when my accountant first described this to me I did not believe it also. Generally speaking it 'feels' more tax efficient to be using the Isa but when you actually do the sums it turns out that 100k in an isa works out the same as 125k in the dealing account (in the limit of very low initial acquisition cost). Thus if you sell down the isa you are left with 125k worth of shares instead of just 100k if you sold down the dealing account whilst protecting the isa. I don't have time to write this up this week but might after the vanitec meeting if people are interested.

Endion - as others have commented here you can only transfer 20k cash into an isa wrapper per year. Is it better to hold shares in an isa or a dealing account -actually if you already have well stocked isa and dealing accounts and you wish to take some cash it works out the same. Eg 125k in a dealing account and 100k in an isa - and you want to get 100k cash. You can either take 100k straight out of isa and pay no tax or take 125k from the dealing account pay 25k cgt immediately leaving 100k cash for you. What you have left is the same in both scenarios. Most people assume you should try and keep the isa intact and untouched but that is not true - both scenarios work out the same. Actually you can do better by emptying the isa and then refilling from the dealing account 20k per year after the initial drawdown of 100k

I notice that for the first time in June 2018 there was a significant shipment to Wogen/Norfolk as well as the normal shipments to Wogen/Baltimore - is this Norfolk Virginia, a second dropping off point ?
