Kevkan, Buzzipster and CG, whilst Robert Friedland is 'not an entrepreneur with a big mouth' (his words and I wonder if anyone can guess who he is referring to) he is also no shrinking violet and gave an excellent speech for around 1 and a quarter hours at the mines and money last autumn in London. In mining circles he is the equivalent of Steve Jobs, whilst to Steve Jobs he was of course his mentor and one of his first business partners.

Gambit and I stayed behind after his mines and money presentation and battled through the dozens of mining billionaires to try and ask him some questions about Vanadium and BMN. Gambit, being more decisively confident in such situations succeeded in asking him about Vanadium and whether he might have an involvement with BMN - the answer was "it's complicated".

CG - FM of course was the one who at the last Vanitec meeting publicly wondered aloud that he thought RF might be launching a VRFB business. This of course came to pass.

This was the reason why Gambit and I went to see RF talk at the mines and money conference in London at the end of last year. I will let gambit take the story up from there.

I wonder if I will get to have a chat with John Wang at the Vanitec meeting in 10 days time.

The key bit is this:

Pangang V&T will join with VRB Energy to establish commercial leasing of vanadium electrolyte, including a commitment by Pangang V&T to guarantee the repurchase of the vanadium electrolyte at a mutually-agreed residual value at the end of the lease term;

This is the first commercial announcement of a large scale Vanadium electrolyte leasing model.

BMN, BE and UET may well follow suit if it means greater uptake of VRFBs outside of China.

The most interesting thing is that this leasing model has first been announced in conjunction with a Chinese company, not a US or European one. This undoubtedly means that the Chinese are leading the way and the Chinese government are seriously committed to large scale VRFB energy storage.

This means it WILL happen.

Tyfoon, almost definitely the latter though the concept of dilution is one that almost all early stage companies have to face up to at some point and may not be altogether bad, as in this case where a key symbiosis is established.

There is no way that a key partner like Pangang is going to wait in line on the public market to buy shares from each and every PI - especially not now that they have told everyone about it.

MTB - this of course is huge

Dbush - well we are well below that figure at present so I cannot see this as a genuine reason for SP drop. Also it would be entirely improper to manipulate the Share price to achieve such an end so I don't think that FM would entertain such an idea even if it were possible to change the SP to meet such a goal.

Wisha - is it just me that sees Bid/Ask stuck at 16.80/17.50 here, whilst the real Bid/Ask is 17.30/17.80 ?

McMuff - why do you think that the company should be pushing the SP harder than they already are. Is up 120% since the start of the year not good enough ?

If I was Fortune I would be more bothered about building a strong a long-term business than giving a few private investors a quick buck that means they will disappear off into across the horizon.

As gambitxjs and vauch will attest those attending the Vanitec meetings come away with a completely different picture of where BMN fits in in the worldwide Vanadium/VRFB community.

actually up until abbout 11.45 there were 120K more buys than sells - so all this nonsense suggesting a wave of selling is just that.

Each time a weak holder sells by definition they get replaced by someone who actually wants to hold the share at that price - they are stronger holders. This is consolidation and is quite healthly.

it's like a short but where they actually control the levers of the share price. Thus it is simpler than taking candy from a baby.

the MMs simply drop the price the get some volume and then drop it again so that they can get the shares they need without having to pay more than they just sold them for.

If nobody sells the price will not go down it is as simple as that. The market makers will take advantage of anyone who does not understand this and hold on to their shares.

Vanadium 'Nitride' products such as Nitrovan are as discussed here:- http://www.nitrovan.co.za/documents/Vametco%20Alloys%20Brochure%20(Digital).pdf 20 to 40% more efficient per Kg of Vanadium added at improving the strength of steel - thus they should retail at premiums of between 20 and 40% more than FeV.

Traditionally we have been told that Nitrovan retails at only a 5% premium to FeV - so it seems that in this high Vanadium price era this is correcting itself as steelmakers look more closely at their Vanadium strengthening costs and opt for V+N products.

My post was of course in february and yes there was indeed a placing in April this year.

I do not need to entertain this idiot Bolgas any longer. Let's hope though that RedT the company can sort themselves out a bit and negotiate a long-term supply contract for electrolyte from someone like Bushveld Energy or else they are going to be permanently in the pickle.

The transparently aggressive and non factually based posts on the BMN board from Bolgas and Sbuild last night are as clear a sign as you could have that they are desperate straights with their investments in RedT Energy.

Up until this point I had pretty much ignored RedT and their idiot ramper Bolgas but not any more - his and Sbuild's incessant nonsense means that I will now be focusing on RedT with a fine toothed comb.

It is clear now that the trebling of Vanadium prices in the last 2 years has thrown their production pricing into a tailspin and bolting on a Lithium-ion battery to a Vanadium Flow Battery and calling it a 3rd Generation Hybrid will not make their battery any cheaper.

In fact it will make it a whole lot more complicated and expensive to build plus they at the cost of losing the clear marketing benefits (long life, charge/discharge 0-100% SOC, etc) of an all Vanadium Flow battery.

Not that their go-it-alone CEO Scott Mcgregor (2016 pay GBP 348,00 page 16 https://redtenergy.com/wp-content/uploads/images/168764-redT-energy-plc-RA-as-printed.pdf ) cares too much about that as he refuses to even call what they make batteries, insisting that everyone he speaks to calls it an Energy Storage System. He does this because he doesn't know what is going to be inside their battery in 3 years time - will it be a Vanadium Flow Battery, a Lithium-ion battery or as Bolgas thinks something running on organic made-up nonsense ?

RedT's investors are waking up to this fact and wondering how a company with an order book of just 2.5 million euros (http://www.lse.co.uk/share-regulatory-news.asp?shareprice=RED&ArticleCode=4ykvtylc&ArticleHeadline=2017_Trading_Update ) will cover the following costs:

1) making those batteries - approximately 2m euros (see cost of sales 8.563M GBP on sales of 10.829M GBP in 2016 AR)
2) all the other costs of running their business (7.927M GBP, page 25, 2016 AR)

3) the costs of paying for the additional gildemeister staff (at least Bengt Stahlschmidt and Adam Whitehead) that RedT took on in September following the collapse of the Austrian company.

This and the incessant rise in Vanadium prices is what is driving RedT's price to historical lows. It looks not just possible but quite likely that we shall see another placing at RedT before the 2017 Annual report is published in April.

As usual this post has been archived should Bolgas, or anyone else think that he or she can arbitrarily get it remove from this public Bulletin Board.

DarrylJ - I think that you do not speak for the majority of us here.

When someone behaves as Bolgas has then comes on here trying to make out he is some sort of reformed character then I am sorry I am naturally suspicious. He is here now because he now realises just how wrong he was over RedT Energy, is now shorting them and wishes us to help him put the boot into them - which to be honest I cannot be bothered to waste my time on.

If the RedT board is having problems then that's a problem of theirs which I want to have nothing to do with.

This snake Bolgas should just be ignored.
