One of the things about the avalon battery systems (eg as supplied to sandbar solar) is that they are DC coupled to the PV systems they are coupled to - this means that you do not need to suffer energy losses when you turn DC into AC via Inverter and instead capture and store as much as you can from PV harvesting.

It also means that you do not need to build as big an inverter for supply back to the grid as your battery reduces the peak output of the entire system back to the grid. This is a surprisingly large cost saving.

The downside of coupling your batteries to the PV generation in this way is that you need to site the batteries close to the PV panels (or 'strings' of panels as they are called) and may even have to distribute the battery storage through the PV farm. This is possible with both VRFB and Lithium-ion technology - for Lithium-ion one of the 'selling' points is that if one of the batteries explodes or catches fire, well it's only a bit of a disaster, rather than the whole thing written off. That's marketing for you.

Daisydog and kev - cool your boots guys this is one of the least troubling and most easily spotted forms of misinformation out there. This sort of thing has been happening for weeks and I understand it is something to do with exposure on other platforms such as spreadbet ones etc.

Just pointing it out each day so that people are not misinformed.

There are more systematic and effective forms of market manipulation which we are currently monitoring on behalf of this community.

spot on Pdub - those that have done their research will be impressed but not entirely surprised by this news. Those that didn't were on here 'expressing their concern' yada yada - I find that all somewhat contrived.

lui they are not winning from where I am sitting. Real investing means doing the research and then developing an informed conclusion which is not swayed by uninformed nonsense on bulletin boards.

YTSS - it is more a 'false' trade, part of a closely matched pair that appears to be associated with spread betting platforms. A similar trade, to within 0.01p typically will be posted at the end of the day. On is a buy the other is a sell, they have no impact and should not be posted like this so as it gives a false impression of what is happening in the market.
