yes it was very good. The guys coming in from Avalon are clearly focussed on becoming commercially self-sustaining. The Energy Superhub Oxford (ESO) project is going to be implemented by them with 162x Avalon 40kWh (ish) modules stacked multiple high and this is going to be a showcase project for them.

Despite the 2M/5MWh VRFB in the ESO being relatively small sized compared with the 50MW Lithium ion battery this is deceptive because it is actually the VRFB that is at the very 'tip-of-the-spear' in that it is the thing that sees the grid first and which provides National Grid Fast Frequency Response for which payment is made.

As the ESO website (https://energysuperhuboxford.org/technologies/battery-energy-storage/ ) itself makes clear:-

"This combination provides synergies for supporting National Grid’s Fast Frequency Response (FFR) tenders, allowing the vanadium flow (which doesn’t degrade) to do much of the heavy lifting in providing an FFR service together with the lithium-ion, thus reducing degradation on the lithium-ion."

Thus the VRFB actually can do many cycles per day, whilst the poor old Lithium-ion units can only handle a single charge per day. The high cyclability of VRFBs is one of the many advantages that VRFBs have over Li-ion but one which is rarely talked about. Response time for their VRFBs is less than 150ms so the VRFB is well capable of handling FFR services.

... so on the assumption that that 16:10 trade is part of a Bed & ISA style pair that brings the nett MM trade position prior to the large end day trade to plus 1,101,704 - i.e the MMs have sold 1.1M shares that they have not yet managed to acquire from the market.

Then a trade of 1,098,493 is dropped in.

I think that you can see that the balance of probability points to this trade being a sell (i.e. shares going to the Market Makers) - it is precisely the right number needed for them to balance their books ahead of 4 day shutdown.

What would this tell us ? It depends on where you think those shares are coming from - the most obvious is that they are from a tame seller who has tasked a MM with selling down a significant block. The MMs then dip into this pot as and when they need. They are doing so to precisely offset the number bought yesterday because they do not want to be having a short position when the SP could potentially move upwards following good news over the Easter weekend.

Gr33ning68 - I shall have a look at it - on first inspection though it is clear that the picture is not clear if you only look at the LSE trade log as there 13 transactions missing from this that are shown on ADV-FN.

Amongst these is the transaction at 16:10:41 which strongly appears to be part of a Bed & ISA pair with the similarly sized transaction 20 seconds earlier. The interesting thing is that the price for both of these trades is exactly the same at 13.00 dead rather than the 13.02p which the other similarly sized Bed & ISA trade pairs after 4pm show.

So... we may end up seeing this trade restated at the 13.02p price in the next few days.

But what is also interesting is that there are 3 sets of apparent Bed & ISA style trade pairs after 4pm (at 16:10, 16:14 and 16:23) - so none at the £20K level but all around £16.7K. A number of scenarios offer themselves the most obvious being a large and generous LTH transferring shares in multiple relation's ISAs - the same to all - if this is the case then perhaps the person concerned might let us know so that I can definitively confirm 3x Bed & ISA pairs despite the apparent misreporting on the 16:10 pair.

if the platform boys can be in the office and are able to ring up their MM mates to arrange a B&I then it does seem remarkable that they are unable to do the same from the comfort of their spare bedroom.

Pat48 - every further day that the Enerox deal is dragged out benefits us even more. It would not surprise me if, like Vanchem, Fortune is negotiating a further discount.

You forget that Enerox is basically Gildemeister, which was one of the most successful VRFB businesses over the last 15 years, before their previous German parent decided that it was not exciting enough for them, leaving them to be picked up by the barely-out-of-nappies Stina resources.

Pat48 - of course that is purely the trading of the share on the exchange. It has nothing to do with whether the parent company, the Canadian registered Cellcube, can trade as a business or not. Not that it would make much difference because that company doesn't sell anything because it doesn't have a mine and so unlike Bushveld cannot profit every day that passes by selling its product across the world.

Enerox of course is an entirely different entity which has even less to do with Cellcube since Stefan Schauss resigned from their board a couple of months ago.

indeed it looks like whoever is behind the most recent moves realised that they would sucker in a bunch of shorts following the 40% rise earlier in the week and are saying thanks very much as well.

sammy - Meyer is alright, he was on the mine tour with myself and Ninjamagic in January last year. He wasn't particularly au fait with the concept of VRFB batteries before that visit but was much better informed as a result of that visit. Essentially they may have gone from having a purely mining oriented view prior to that visit to one which really got the whole size of the opportunity for integrated Vanadium mines-to-VRFB batteries.

Snott - the guys who drive the diggers are in their cabs, they are employees of BMN. The guys who drive the dumpers sit in their cabs and are subcontractors. Anyone who has ever worked in an opencast mine will probably confirm that you don't have people wandering around the mine site chatting about what was on telly last night.

The processing side of things is, like all chemical processing plants, made up of big machines that run pretty much all the time, except for when something breaks and then needs to be fixed. Where more people are employed is in quality control and testing, plus a number driving forklifts of finished product around. For these people the place they will catch anything is most likely from their home communities.

If it was up to me I would get them all housed on-site and away from potential infection, have their temps monitored each day and then isolated further, on-site, until any infection clears. However I'm not in control and Fortune is clearly on top of the situation there so whatever he decides is for the best.

Indeed there's nothing to say that you need to have the mine running to be able to load stuff from the stockpile into a shipping container for export.

Are there some people out there so dim as to think that when the mine stops the sales stop. Have these people ever visited an industrial or chemical processing plant. This is not just-in-time manufacturing there's stockpile capacity built in throughout the production line - there has to be or the whole thing won't work.
