Careful with what you ask.

Moderation is just another word for censorship.

Try to post anything that may vaguely be read as controversial, or offensive for some, and your post will be taking down on Yahoo finance, which is heavily moderated (which I use for is stocks). The word "multi-bagger" was considered offensive and a post of mine taken down (!?!?).

With ever increasing control over speech, we risk to lose more fundamental constitutional rights. If anyone annoys you, better block them, but I wouldn't ask for the intervention of moderators. Moderators are not supreme being, they know no better, most importantly they work for someone.

Retailer big bosses, including JD Sports, signed a letter for Rachel Reeves warning against more tax rises, which would make a dent in customer spending and lower living standards. I'm sure the message will fly over Rachel's head but the risk will be factored in the preliminary results next week.

I'm in a way disappointed that Rachel Reeves found out about the black hole in the UK finance only after the election. Probably she should have done better homework before making promises (no tax rises) that she could not keep.

If Labour cannot stead the ship, this government will become very unpopular. The only positive I see is that if this government manages to crash the Sterling (GBP), overseas earnings will weight more, and positively, on consolidated statements.

Foreign investment in UK businesses will be favoured, on the other hand import costs will go up, housing cost will increase too, since foreign investors will scoop up properly at a favourable FX rate.

People are spending less on fast food this summer but are replacing those meals with smaller treats from the supermarket, according to new consumer research.

Casual and fast-food restaurants have seen a 6% drop in customers over the three months to mid-July compared to last summer, research from Worldpanel by Numerator found.

Why should JD be so much less deserving compared to other retailers?

A P/E of 15–16 (JD’s long-term average) is completely reasonable, and for a growing business, such a P/E is actually very conservative.

On the same note, RBC was forecasting 200p back in 2022.. so how much credibility do they have left?

Brokers often seem to have no idea what they’re talking about; the more I read from them, the less respect they command from their readers.

There are better dividend payers out there and Unilever growth is pretty poor.

Lots of data centres have been built since the pandemic. I begin to doubt their excuses. I asked during the last TC if tariff were a concern and they said it wasn't . Now it is an excuse, along with the usual interest rates, labour shortage etc.

Just adding, I thing HFG should consider cutting the dividend if that can help improve operational efficiency and bring FCF margins to 5%. The share price may even double.

I apologize in advance for my limited understanding of Greencore’s business model and how it compares to HFG.

Greencore’s share price has had a stellar year. Despite generating only half the revenue of HFG, Greencore delivers similar profits, indicating significantly better margins.

HFG has impressed me with its expansion into North America and the Middle East, while still maintaining solid profits in more mature markets. Its dividend yield is also notably higher than Greencore’s. Recently it has pocketed about £20mln from the sale of equity in Food Connected, which, if contractually doesn't have to be invested in Foods Connected, could be used to build more factories (at least fund the one opening in North America/Canada).

Are HFG’s low margins preventing its share price from matching Greencore’s P/E ratio?

The current P/E does not seem to reflect a fair valuation for a growing business.
