Grezzz,
It's all in the RISC cpr:
https://www.advanceplc.com/media/1092/risc-cpr-buffalo-23mar2021b.pdf
If you fancy a headache - page 16-22 covers it in the (not so) layman's version!
:0)
GL.
Be interesting to see when the interim update will be provided. Probably only to say progressing per schedule. Nothing else to report until at least 2800m.
May be some media exposure beforehand?. GL.
HMS, some early articles, one in Energy Voice back in March 2021.
https://laohamutuk.org/Oil/Project/Buffalo/210309EnergyVoiceSkepticismBuffaloEn.pdf
Uncalled for title to the article when the content also presents positive reasoning!
Again Energy Geo may have an input for us.
Kevin, there's shedload of references out there, though I must add some are skeptical about the field and the CoS projections. I have several links saved!. Nonetheless, having done fair amount of research and general reading, I am reasonably comfortable with my moderate investment. But it's good to have someone 'close' to the action like Energy Geo to provide some input.
In case some don't read past the 1st page of CVN's rns's, they always throw in useful background info re the targeted field/zones.
GL.
Hope Energy Geo reads this and would welcome his experienced input:
As a precursor, I came across a very old article - in the last para EnergyGeo's past employer (DUGS) gets a mention!
https://www.offshore-technology.com/projects/buffalo-oil-and-gas-field-redevelopment/
The question I have is, has anyone seen a pictorial illustration of the B10 and what depth is the attic.
The last operated depth was over 3000m and we know we are almost guaranteed a find there as it was a producing column, albeit with some minor issues towards the end(?).
The advanced seismic identified the attic play which on a simple visual appears a very large column. I hope we get an interim update once maybe halfway through the attic?
GL.
I'll second that Jezzac.
Today was a milestone. There'll be many more in 2022!
ATB, stay safe and look forward to many constructive debates + banter.
Thanks again Jezzac.
ADV is my 1st investment that has a direct link to an Oz listed Co. So a bit of a novelty and learning!
PS. have had many Canadian (TSX) links in the past tho!
No worries Jez. Wasn't being argumentative for the sake of it bud.
Whatever it is, I'll look in in the morning and hope we receive the news positively.
GL.
Sorry to be pedantic, but presently is in pre-open mode. May see a mark up to when it formally opens @ midnight (or 1:00AM?).
New thread already up EG.
GL.
Lol Bladey!
I'd try a dry run with the CVN sp prediction 1st.
btw, well done and GL all.
Be interesting to see the reaction on CVN's SP.
WOW!... Someone predicted 150m and I ticked the first line off in our last RNS!
120 m....full throttle!
I should've also added that I've read many cases where the RNS referred to the Spud in the past tense. I guess depends on the time zone of the well location as well as the operational and safety checks on the turning bit!
Someone earlier suggested they may have completed 150 m?
That would put a tick on the 1st line:
-- Drill 36" x 26" hole and set 30" x 20" conductor at around 120 metres
-- Drill 17 1/2" hole and set 13 3/8" surface casing at around 800 meters
-- Drill 12 1/4" hole and set 9 5/8" intermediate casing at around 2,800 metres, and
-- Drill 8 1/2" hole and set 7" production liner to approximately 3,500 metres
I'm relaxed and await confirmation.
Me, I'd be very surprised if they didn't rns the Spud. Virtually every O & G play I've been invested in consider the Spud to a major milestone. That forms the basis for the follow up, i.e., "The estimated time to drill and complete the well is around 35 days."
But WTFDIK! imo. GL all.
Thank you Energy Geo and Piltick for filling some gaps in our knowledge.
I was curious about the Marine watch gang and had wondered about the activity around the rig!
Just waiting for the Black & Decker to do it's bit .
Wonder if Leslie will be there to give us a tweet!
GL all.
:Blubay:
"Surely confirmation of spud is market sensitive information and requires an RNS?"
We expect an rns, but the earliest they can inform the market is tomorrow morning?!!
However, not sure if Aus market was open y'day as CVN should RNS before us.
@ Bladey
I am not familiar with the likely depth drilled per day. But seeing they are drilling mostly a sandstone strata, do you envisage any issues and what your estimate timing for TD?....150m/day reasonable?
Hey HMS, you must have had the kids over x-mas as I note your auto-correct issue appears to have been resolved! :0)
Looking forward to the Spud confirmation in the morning. The other (open) markets have been heading north and ftse future are +ve, so hoping for a nice wrap up to the year end.
Also hoping the 3500m hole is drilled trouble-free and on schedule.
