What are the thoughts for today’s late showings? Another monster or a few handfuls?

£600k trade went through today - wonder what and to whom it went to. Strewth!

First glimmer of breaking 23p and this will go on a run I expect - I think some of those pending orders are just matching in...

lots of lumpy late trades keep on showing on the book. we need to get through the noise in the system and then we'll be on our way north. As to a well-known commentators point - some volatility expected but overall we should be in a good place once it all settles in. Licence news is the 100% day on this, which from a bit of digging looks to be a formality.

Evidently the drag on the sp could be a lack of liquidity - only 10% not in corporate hands, so therefore we’re the trading floor! I’d be keen to see decent volumes, and not witness too many large buys taking out chunks out of hours.

Tomorrow will be much clearer! The consolidation will be in the rear view mirror and so price changes will be understandable for all and not just those good at their 20 times table!

Also will see some of the platforms having sorted their side out, which possibly affected trading today.

With the consolidation today, we should be guaranteed to be top of the movers list ????????. Percentage performance-wise, I’d be happy with a flat to prior close finish, but expect this to shift due to the awareness of how low this is sat compared to peers, and the KLKI enduring breakeven benchmark.

And it did! All good and set for a return to trading on Wednesday morning.

And reflecting that KLKI need this to be at 5p to break even (post consolidation - 100p), the fact that the corporate world is ruthless so I’m sure those who are behind this deal within KLKI are rather motivated to get their investment back to flat (at the very least!) at the earliest opportunity. A few days and we shall see...

Quick google news: “ Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera issued an ultimatum yesterday to those who have obtained permits to conduct mineral resources excavation in Sri Lanka but failed to carry out any excavation for years.

He warned that their permits would be rescinded unless they start excavation for mineral resources immediately. ”

Some sense of urgency. I have a suspicion this is going to shift into gear quickly and next week could prove interesting.

The mining sector did 5.3% today - a favourable scene for CML - I have a feeling that we could be quite relieved with how CML performs from next Wednesday!

Much fairer post by Atom72. I don’t think those shares which are freed up will every see PI hands again - they’ll be taken off by KLK or an agent on behalf of. Having read the Sri Lankan budget speech, and it’s now been voted through, all the major hurdles will melt away I’m sure for KLK (who already had favourable public affairs / governmental relations).

When you reflect on what Michael Frayne was saying on YouTube three years ago, this has got to be oven-ready to get going. The port is cleared now so export is going to be quick to run. I’d be intrigued what kit it needs for mining - it sounds like a soft sediment and therefore simple plant to mine (quick to find and utilise) and so exports will run fairly quickly. Licenses may have been a sticking point but I imagine KLK are all over that (I think that’ll be the catalyst news).

Something to tickle the appetite would be great. The agreement must have passed in CML for the deal and therefore we should have an update soon.

I hear you about the conundrum about timelines and the sector. I’ve been trying to find a gauge on how quick CML will be in business. It’s definitely a scalable business and they’re not exactly having to deep caste mine the sands. Harbour has just been cleared of wind blown sand and so shipping out material will be back on track. I think it’s going to be an interesting few days when it reopens on the market. Fingers crossed for us all.

On II it’s showing as worth zero - take that for a kick in the knackers!!!
