Sells over buys12 Jun 2018 21:15
Firstly as I have said on these 2 days, that we have let off the bus plenty of sellers which I think is positive for the rise as it takes those out of the game and replaces with new holders. Without sells a quick rise has no foundations.
However looking closely at the sells in detail, for many times during the rise the ASK was quite a bit higher than the BID and by defacto a lot higher than the actual 'offered' buy price. In fact I was offered to buy at the bid price and the actual sell price was below the BID price. When both those things happen above more often than not the buy price paid falls below the mid price of the spread and shows as a 'sell', when in fact it was a buy. So at the end of the day don't take the total buys and total sells as gospel because the totals are wrong. Some shares the ask is so high the entire day shows as sells. In fact recently HZM has had 4.3 and 4.4 on the spread with real sells 4.28 to 4.3 and buys as 4.34 all show as sells.
During the day if you are unsure just place a 'quote' and you will see what the real buy or sell is regardless of the spread. Also to note the total shares for the day are screwed up by late reported trades, as the late trade is assigned buy or sell at the time its exposed not the time it took place, so for example today most late buys would show when the price has moved higher and therefore show as a sell at the later reported time.
Going back to basics, there were plenty of sells for sure but that did not stop this rising......and that is an important point!
