Probably the current drifting down of the SP is purely down to the issues in the US with and the looming issues in the UK with the budget,so probably just capital rotation. The Deloitte report will be available to management and PWC to give them time to complete the Audit and for management to respond. Any movement in the SP could indicate which way this might go. Could be good buying opportunities ahead whichever way it goes short term.

Last year North America made 58m. Reading the RNS it says that 2025 will be 55m ( previous guidance) less the overstatement of 25m which is 30m. So profits halved? Seems strange, why is it lower this year?

Anyone who made a few £ over the last couple of days should send the incompetent accountants a few beers, I’m sure they are getting a hard time. For every loser there is a winner, and for every loser there is a winner. It’s still a decent business, it sounds like just a timing issue and poor quality accounting. Maybe they should send the accountants on a retraining program. We wait for the review, but is seems an overreaction. I’m sure the SP recovers in time.

I doubt there is much money to be made shorting now. Unless the banks have a trust issue with management or bookkeeping. Watch with interest how the story plays out

Probably some easy money to be made here if you have patience. They need to sort out all the accounting mess to get some confidence back and maybe one or two heads need to roll will also give a bit more confidence to the market. So the sooner they conclude the investigations and fire one or two of the incompetent people involved the better. Underlying it’s a good business, just need to restore confidence. Tesco bounced back from a similar mess.

Lagardère getting foothold into Heathrow to eat the lunch of WH Smith is a worry. I’m sure they will be eyeing the other airports and railway stations as contracts come up for renewal. Probably explains the recent SP weakness. Having a new experienced competitor coming into your home market isn’t a good sign, considering they haven’t had competition in the past. It will be interesting to see how they compete against each other. They can easily copy ranges to adapt to the uk market. Watch with interest how it plays out.
