With regards to treatment, be good to yourself, if you can don't go back to work until chemo is over. Make sure you look after yourself and drink lots of water. Don't go through this on your own, people will be there to support you - this is important.

Good idea.

One of my personal tutors suggested I do a MSc at the med school.
Almost 95% employment rate in the pharmaceutical industry - they cannot get applicants locally.
The starting salaries are £45,000. If I can get experience and pass the industry exams certain positions have exceptional locum rates.

However, I am in my 40s and I am wary about spending £8,000 and eight months without work. My cognitive ability has also been impaired by the treatment (chemo brain). I do not need stress.

Electrical engineering seems in demand and future proof. The locum rates seem good and it is solitary peaceful work. I have almost completed my HNC via distance learning and I find it very straightforward.

I am going to contact the med school explain my concerns over age, etc. and see what they say.
Electrical engineering just seemed like a good fit with opportunities to work overseas again.

I'm recovering from 3C/4 carcinoma. I was in the final year of the degree.

There's a time limit to sit the professional exams.

Does anyone know anything about careers in electrical engineering?
