The Edenville and Kibo coal finds are because a few of companies were allowed to Prospect in this particular region for Metallic Minerals, Energy Minerals and Kimberlitic Diamonds because it was believed that these Mineral existed, and in the hope to carry the 400kV Power Line forward. Although this was not always the case, as the original studies concluded that there wasn't sufficient power generation capacity at the time to justify large Transmissions Line Interconnecter Projects. So imo some considerable credit has to be given to companies like Edenville and Kibo for their successful studies and ultimately their considerable coal finds. Unfortunately neither are currently afforded anything from the TGov/MEM.

Why would anyone be allowed to prospect for coal in a region miles from anywhere if there wasn't a plan? We definitely now know there was plan. The location of the coal mine is down to the Interconnecter first studied in the region 16 years ago.

We have a strategically placed CPP, and if we win the Tender it will be because of Edenville and not because they coincidentally have a coal mine near by. If we don't win the Tender I am pretty sure someone will be wanting all of our assets!

JohnZ - Do you really think that it is a coincidence that the aptly named Mbeya - Sumbawanga (overhead) Transmission Line starts at the Kibo MCPP and ends at the Edenville RCPP?..with substations at both, (and Tunduma in the middle) or do you believe that the projects were ramdom (?) and not strategically placed, bearing-in-mind that they commissioned the Interconnected studies initially in 2002..

Sausage as I posted in mid November, currently my hopes are on the Tender. Should that fail (bearing in mind where our 173mt of coal is in relation to the Mbeya – Sumbawanga Interconector) then the company (our coal) surely becomes a target for whoever does win it, BUT think we are in a very favourable position.

Common sense dictates you can't build a coal fired substation on the doorstep of our Project without a Great deal of coal. I also doubt that it's a coincidence that the proposed Mbeya – Sumbawanga Interconector passes by Edenvilles (173mt coal) RCPP and Kibo's (130mt coal) MCPP... All imho

If Rufus pulls the Tender off, then he will deserve a pay rise! :))
