Did I miss the breakdown of where the 100k a week we’re apparently currently receiving is coming from?

I’d be surprised if I ever said Gazelle was a dud. The company gave us the odds - a coin toss.

I will say I was surprised they revisited given THEY shelved it for so long, but it was a very result as I acknowledged. Indeed, I bought on the back of the RNS.

If someone can explain the basis of where the 100k a week is coming from then I might accept it. But I’ve set out the FACTS and figures from official releases. And that showed monthly revenue was only $110k (when PC choose to pay). That was with a 12-15% higher oil price. So the maths don’t stack up even with Gazelles initial 200bopd - which if Heron is anything to go by is more likely to decrease than increase.

You were either simply mistaken in which case you can acknowledge the same - or alternatively you were deliberately seeking to mislead people. Which is it, lads?!

And in fact that revenue was based on a “realised oil price for July was $66.4 per barrel”. But it’s now dropped circa 12% so we’ll be getting less than I generously quoted.

Can anyone explain these $100k a week claims?

The last revenue figures we were given said

“In late September, the Company received payment for July's production. PetroChina continued to withhold 30% so the amount received was $110k net to Petro Matad”.

So if 150bopd gets $110k, wouldn’t 350bopd return something like $250k a month? Which isn’t 100k a week?

Granted you could then add another 30% on the assumption at some point they’ll get paid in full (itself assuming PC actually pay) which takes us to circa 320k a month. Where’s the rest coming from?

I’ve even used 150bopd for H1 there, it the last update of 145bopd. I also assumed all of the 30% goes to MATD even tho I think tax needs paying on it.

So the claims were currently receiving 100k a week FACT are in fact bull s h I t

Does that $100k include the 30% withholding?

Does the hundred grand a week include the 30% withholding and does it account for Heron1 declining production?!

Classic Tenbag - tells everyone to expect multiples £5m - £10m WINTER review last year and then pretends he’s delights with just a tiny fraction of that. And even then it won’t be enough to fund new wells so we’re back to discussing a raise. Next years will really knock the wind from a few sails here.

Exactly Doc, I certainly never said Gazelle was a dud as it was before my time. It was stated as 50-50 and the coin toss came in. However it looks like Heron2’s 75% odds won’t land.

The company never tell us what they expect from these wells, it’s the equivalent of investing in a retailer who don’t project sales.

So the best wells will produce a declining 145bopd and the one 800m away can’t production anything at a commercial rate. What a business model!

If you’re happy with Heron 1 doing 145bopd and continuing to decline Abzzba, that’s fine.

But it does need pointing out that you told us to expect multiples. So we’re you trying to mislead people then, or now?

To be fair I am a bit surprised at the continued drop (in the SP, not Heron 1!) because Gazelle was a very good result. I suppose the issue is the H2 implication for other Heron wells, ie H3, H4 etc etc.

It’s never really been discussed, let alone answered but I think that’s the big issue - does it suggest the oil which we’re told is there isn’t commercially viable to extract?

Some here claim the geology is identical but the results that matter clearly arent.

Amusing reaction to my initial entirely factual comment about Heron 1s declining rates. A usual trip round the houses whilst people pretended I was talking about Gazelle, despite the fact I’d clearly and separately referenced that as being more promising.

Heron 1 has done miles less than even I expected and my expectations weren’t the 821bopd they Abzzba and the lads kept telling us about.

And who tells us they are happy with 145bopd - yep the same lads who insisted it would do MULTIPLES of that.

If one of the best wells in the area can only do a declining 145bopd within a year and one 800metres away can’t do anything it doesn’t bode well. Whether or not the rampers here say they don’t mind, a potential partners certainly will. Oh dear!

I thought it was previously on 150bopd tho (possibly even a touch more), so for the sake of accuracy let’s be clear.

5 bopd isn’t an issue by itself, but the FACT it’s co tonic g to DECLINE is.

We all expected it to increase, not decrease, especially our oilfield expert Abzzba.
