Having gradually been ploughing through the 164 page report, I can say that it is shocking, if not criminal, that the portfolio was allowed to get into the state it is now in. Best place to start is page 36. Directors must have had their heads way down in some hole. Needs investigating.

You are entirely correct Gallmat. Unfortunately we have a regular poster who has a personal grudge against the company and it's CEO. He isn't invested, obviously, and is determined to talk anyone else out of investing. Personally, after months or reasoning with him, I now have him blocked, so I can't see what he has to say. I do believe the company has the best interests of investors at it's heart.

I was brought up to be polite, so let me just say thank you to all the derampers for yet another chance to lower my average. Not by much I will admit, but every little helps in the long game. Been here constantly from July 2013, and my last ever AIM punt before retirement. It's all or nothing on this one.

Hi saintly. Yes I love my hobby of investing in quarterly dividend payers. I dabbled for years in Aim exploration companies without much success, before switching to investing for dividends. At first I had found 13 quarterly payers, which I found kept my interest much better than the twice a year variety. I'm now in around 70 quarterly payers, with around another 30 I watch. I am certainly no expert and would never try and impose my views on others. My portfolio pays me an average 5.7% which I hope to get to 6% soon, and it will pay the rent on an apartment my the sea when/if I get away from my current family caring duties. I don't worry too much about capital. There are always some companies up, and some down. I have noticed a growing number of people trying to trade these quarterly payers. It only works in a rising market. The key to success is always getting in at the bottom and keeping that price and yield. I dumped a lot of companies at a loss last March and put the proceeds in companies who's prices had collapsed, and they now pay me 10% yield. Regional REIT for example.
It's a great hobby, but most investors just want profit and believe they can influence the market with comments on boards like this.

Believe it or not @saintly, I have come across another another person who spends their lives moaning about a company they aren't invested in. In the new case, they have a grudge against Ground Rents (both the company and the existence thereof). It's a worrying trend. Next we will have non-investors protesting about oil wells and tobacco plantations. There will be nothing left to invest in. The world will end !

I have a very large portfolio of quarterly dividend paying shares. In practically every one, there are the doom and gloom merchants who predict the end of the world as we know it. The end of pubs, the end of shopping centres, the end for oil and gas. Yet companies like BATS and IMB go one year after year, decades after tobacco was known to be a major cause of cancer.
Try and find yourself a hobby, something that you can feel pleasure from. It really worries me the amount of people who seem suicidal about things that they have no reason to even care about. I am told painting by numbers can be therapeutic.
As for me, my portfolio has never looked so good. The yields after adding to holdings last March are fantastic. Happy days are here.

Surely not @Tymers ? He's an oil man, you can't get more honest and less slippery than that. He's so good with percentages as well.

Presumably he is highlighting the positives regarding insurance payouts for companies forced to close. Happy Days.

It's a bit of a dilemma. Those of us who have held through Covid (NRR is the only company I chose to hold after it had cancelled it's dividends) could suffer as lots of speculators jump in for a large final dividend and sell out straight after. I'd prefer a small dividend for Q3 to avoid this. Anything will be welcome though.

I don't know why you people can't accept that others may have different opinions to yourselves.
I have no wish to reinvest in a company paying less than 4 percent dividend. If you want to call me a fool then so be it. You collect your pittance and I'll collect my 10 percent. If you bothered reading you would have read that I don't chop and change, I prefer to keep the dividends rolling in. When the market next has a dramatic fall, which it always does, I will have money available to pick up the bargains. Goodbye.

I currenty average 5.5 percent but want to get it to 6 percent. Everyone has different ambitions, mine is to get into high dividend payers at a low price, which makes a dramatic difference. The ones I invested in last March when the bargains were to be had, are paying 10%.
Nothing wrong with investing for profit, I prefer to let the dividends roll in. I'm getting 10% plus on VSL, RGL, AEW Uk, HONY, SDV, RECI .... BBox was once a favourite, now it's time to get out and reinvest if the price halves, or the dividend doubles.

why don't you swap numbers and give each other a call to discuss your naughty dealings ? It would save boring the rest of us half to death. Just saying x

Unfortunately, BBox would need to make a large dividend increase to make the company of interest to dividend investors. Another ex-favourite to be sold to keep my yield up.

Please don't spend your life worrying about companies that you aren't invested in, it will only cause you misery.

The company said it welcomes government efforts to work with industry and simplify the lease extension process but added that "any potential reform will need to ensure sufficient compensation for landlords to reflect their legitimate property interests"

Like Bob_L I pursued this for over a year, in my case with I-web/Halifax as well as DGOC. I had filled in the Ben form before investing.
Talking to anyone was pointless as no-one knew what I was on about, so the time spent was enormous reading US tax papers etc. After making an official complaint, I-web admitted they had misled me in their reasons for not paying the full amount. They refunded the tax I had paid, but made it clear that if I continued to hold, I now knew of the problems and would continue to get the 30% shortfall. Moving elsewhere would be a problem as I prefer to keep my ISA in one place.
I am told that the problems are twofold - Computershare pays out the dividends and the W8BEN's have to be submitted to them by the Bank or Stockbroker, and UK Banks aren't licensed to handle to W8-BEN for US companies listed on the London Stock Exchange. Computershare in both the UK and USA refused to communicate with me as I am not their client.
I am also told that the Banks, (HSBC/Halifax/Lloyds etc actually receive the dividend with the 30% tax already taken off from Computershare, and just pass on what they get. So the client sees no mention of any tax paid, which makes me wonder who actually benefits from the tax withheld. No one is interest in talking about the matter further. It's a case of sell up, or go elsewhere.

I was just about to invest after researching over the New Year. Unfortunately this is another company that is banned by Lloyds/Halifax/i-Web. I can only presume that the reason is the wording of the KID that implies that professional advise is advised before investing. I presume Downing's knows of this as it lists a small number of brokers who will deal with this investment. May invest later if money becomes available, but as my ISA is with I-web, there is not much I can do at the moment.

W8-BEN form doesn't work with UK banks, whether Isa or normal trading account. Very frustrating and something that should be sorted. Received my dividend 21st Dec. with Halifax/I.web 30 percent less, which is apparently what the bank receive. Get no mention of any tax taken.
