RE: Ferraris9 Mar 2019 01:26
Love_You,
I'm just back in from an evening far too much beer than I should with a friend of decades' standing, who I haven't seen for 18 months or so, and who is now happily snoring away in my spare bedroom.
Logged on in here, nevertheless, before turning in myself, and have seen your interesting post, with a lot of replies. So thought I might join the fray as well, just for weekend O/T fun.
"Posters, you're invested in an oil company - so why aren't you out driving Ferraris rather than posting on here?"
Because it's not an Oil Company, but an Oil Exploration Company, and we're waiting for the return on our investment. And personally I detest Ferraris, and won't buy one.
" I mean what else are you going to do with the investment returns from an oil company"
Maybe drink it, but an expensive bit of artwork, or hire an expensive escort-girl.
" So I assume that quite a few of the people on here own a fairly decent collection of cars with medium to large engines?"
That's a very weird assumption. Personally I own a 15-year old Rangerover L322 with the 3 litre straight six diesel-burning engine, close to 300,000 km on the clock, mechanically perfect but with some accumulated battle-scars on the bodywork, about which I don't care. 'Chipped' by myself, EGR system bypassed by myself, so it runs in fact 'cleaner', and has more power.
" Hence I do question why you spend your time posting on here rather than driving your Ferrari through the vineyards of Southern Italy, Greece or Tunisia."
I reckon on doing about 22,000 km this year, going to play poker and also following the truckracing season. Why the f*** would I want to go to a Grecian vineyard? Doubt there's much fun to be found there. And if I want wine, there's a shop 50 metres from my flat which sells the stuff.
