SL - The purple trend line is from the low of 0.75, March 2015 and connects to the last candle because that one it is the SP end point of both the week and the month which made me view is as significant. Others opinions as to where an ascending path may come from would good. I also thought the fact that the SP has hit that lower red descending line for each of the last 3 weeks and not bounced may favour the purple line. However, I realise I may be wishing for the importance of said trendline rather than waiting for it to come and show itself which I would think is a fault of the new chart enthusiast. That is what you lot are here for. A doji candle would be interesting this week ahead.
CPX - I keep coming back to this chart and have simplified as much as I can. http://rt7.t.prorealtime.com/ProRealTimeNew/display_chartimage.phtml?name=xf7t9hbkhv1ss9iorapll8u52&type=png&purpose=share_google It seems, all things being equal that this should either follow to purple line a or the red wedge b or you take the blue pill, the story ends. You wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill, you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.
Scubaz, thanks. Yeh, I am trying to read this with PRT mobile, which is worse than nothing at all. If one was to use an hourly chart for the last two days, the pattern is v regular v wave like and breaking as it does after a sustained downward trend, my take is that it looks v v similar to the bear trap that Scotland or NFL identified on HSBA. All opinions v welcome (Apologies all the v's)
RIO, RNS this morning.... "Rio Tinto has reached a binding agreement for the sale of its Mount Pleasant thermal coal assets to MACH Energy Australia Pty Ltd for US$224 million plus royalties1. With the recently announced binding agreement for the sale of Rio Tinto's interest in the neighbouring Bengalla coal Joint Venture, this amounts to US$830 million of agreed sales." Is it possible I have got this right for once??

Scot, there was no skill involved. It was just a massive descending wedge that had to break one day. My only compensation is that I had drawn the ascending daily line a week or so ago that the SP is currently climbing. It was the copy of a previous breakout a couple of weeks ago. However, the horse has somewhat bolted prior to my expected inflection point. It may come back down in time for my circled point but I think it is off. http://rt7.t.prorealtime.com/ProRealTimeNew/display_chartimage.phtml?name=xtw7az0299lot1vn8tc1wtb7t&type=png&purpose=share_google Do you have any thoughts on RIO? http://rt7.t.prorealtime.com/ProRealTimeNew/display_chartimage.phtml?name=53zha5vszevekz2i2yfzruw0j&type=png&purpose=share_google http://rt7.t.prorealtime.com/ProRealTimeNew/display_chartimage.phtml?name=lyqsodb4xb1uwal5m031ys5fn&type=png&purpose=share_google
anyone who uses a trading platform... when the minor and major support and resistance lines are superimposed onto a chart, How are those calculated? More interestingly, what are the cut off criteria that changes a share from a major to a minor status? Ta much.
LEK, (I will learn one day why computer designers thought it was a good idea that when you type, your thumb palms are resting on the flat mouse touchpad. This could be a new bugbear if I work hard enough on it) I have never shorted. I am getting some paper trading lessons from a ProRealTime staffer tomorrow. I would very much like to talk to you nearer the time about your shorting rules and systems. I will play first. By the way, I keep using your candlestick definition page.
LEK, HOC was just one on my watchlist. They had their results this morning (I should have known that but I didn't) which went reasonably well and they paid off debt. Bonkers said that it should not close <40p which it had so there was very little below it on the charts to support. TSCO taking a dive but maybe support at 153p. I may consider when they reveal their profit figures. Up to now it has been about turnover. MWE may do well off 19p. Have a good day.
Scot/Scubaz, CPX. Why is the low from the first month of trading here not important at 0.75? There is also a gap, is there not? between the 4th 5th March 2015 between 0.930 & 1.045. Does this need to be filled before this can get going?
Scot, my take on LEK. http://rt6.t.prorealtime.com/ProRealTimeNew/display_chartimage.phtml?name=xzcuszlak5uppp4jr9ssuzjyq&type=png&purpose=share_google
