Over the past year or so, there has been talk of the gas being sold in Ghana. With Gas at these prices, surely it makes business sense to start selling it to the market?

A.
Yes and we are in the process of commercialisation of gas in Ghana. The first 200 bcf of gas in Ghana is gifted to the Government and we are expecting to reach that amount at some point next year.

Has the field development plan for Kenyan project been well received? And do you expect any changes that are necessary to make it a plan?

A.
So, yes, that was quite – we spent a lot of time talking about that when I was in Kenya last week. I think that in general, everyone is very happy, both the joint venture partners and the government with the overall development plan, there were a few tweaks to be made sure we called. And I think we're now working through those with the government. The potential partners that are coming in, the people that are looking at it, I think, are also quite happy with that development plan and would take it as it is going forward.

So, I think the process is that by May 5, or sorry, May 10 is the deadline for the government to approve, and we're working very hard to make sure that we resolve everything. But right now, I think, we're 95%, 98% of the way there. I would expect it to be on track for approval on the 10 of May.

Looks like Kenya project is getting close to development.

Ghana

Production(3) in Ghana averaged approximately 39,400 barrels of oil per day (bopd) net in the fourth quarter of 2021. Kosmos lifted five cargos from Ghana during the quarter, one more than planned due to a late-December Jubilee lifting.

At Jubilee, production averaged approximately 80,400 bopd gross during the quarter. At TEN, production averaged approximately 27,200 bopd gross for the fourth quarter.

The Jubilee water injector well (J55-W) came online around the end of the third quarter and the second Jubilee producer well (J57-P) came online late in the fourth quarter, increasing Jubilee production to above 90,000 bopd gross. At TEN, a gas injector well came online early in the fourth quarter to add pressure support to the Ntomme field.

High reliability of the Ghana production facilities continues, with uptime of the Jubilee and TEN FPSOs averaging around 98% in the fourth quarter as well as high levels of water injection and gas offtake from the Government of Ghana. This performance has continued into 2022 with record levels of water injection seen at Jubilee (>235,000 barrels of water per day) helping to optimize reservoir performance.

Infill drilling is expected to continue in 2022 with a full year of activity underpinning planned production growth in 2022 and 2023.

Kosmos expects production to increase 50% over the next 2 years :)

Pre-emption will increase Tullows production by 10% instantly.

The last RNS stated $86 was achieved in January post hedging?

Is this correct as my sums at 40,000 x $77 and $93 at 20,000 comes in quite a bit lower.

We’ve had a few questions on this – you are not the first to find hard to reconcile. We’ve tried to summarise below:



January realisations were particularly good for us for a few reasons:

We sold three cargoes in January, two of which priced at the end of the month when dated brent prices were higher.
These two cargoes (Ghana crudes) also sold at a premium to brent.
With regards to hedging; our lowest sold calls in 2022 are not on our books until the second quarter, so the high prices in January were felt less acutely.


So, yes the realised price is post-hedging.

We received an average (post hedging) of $86?

Hope it’s correct as that’s T/O of $5 million a day, $150 Million a month & annual T/O of $1.8Billion.

Add in the additional 5,000 BOPD from pre-emptive rights BACKDATED to April 2021, that’s an additional $165 Million, not bad 100% return on pre emption purchase.
