The Reuters report was accurate and at least two indicative offers have been received for the whole entity. However, the company continues to explore the fund raise and is trying to assess which is the best way forward. They do not wish to be backed into a corner and recognise that if they have the funding in the bag, the negotiating position will be much stronger.
The comment from Gonzalez about "having to make their mind up", lends credibility to this argument.

I have seen the rise over the past few days being referred to as a "spike". It is anything but. It is merely a recovery to what was already a very depressed price prior to the manipulative and quite possibly illegal, twitter rumour.

This is another lesson the newbies are learning; this share is highly illiquid and you will be very hard pushed to trade it exactly where you'd like.

There are various gradations of speed: Tortoise speed; snails pace; glacial; geological ages and then, Secker-speed. When I first invested here I was still able to run 100 meters without collapsing, I still had all my teeth and Queen Victoria was in the eleventh year of her reign.

That's very interesting.
Over the years Secker has vacillated about trade investors...one moment it seemed as if they were flavour of the month, the next, he returned to financial investors.
I think many of us assumed that the company would need a cornerstone trade investor (and by that I mean a miner) and I have always favoured Rio; until that is, they recently stressed their main interest being copper.
Although having a large trade investor comes with drawbacks, a company of BCNs size and lack of experience, would hugely benefit from having one on board and it would provide a very good counter-balance to the financial investors.
Let's hope there is substance in the rumour.
