Circumstances change and investors need to adjust to those circumstances. Smith knows this, just as he knew he was simply uttering a catchy reply.

City, absolutely - there will be many sellers and the price will, in all likelihood, fall back. However, in the case, provided the results continue to be good, it will recover and go on to exceed previous values.
So, the questions is; is it worth trying to short-term trade it? Personally, I think not. But, as I said, everyone is different.

There is no correct answer to this question. Each individual will have differing requirements and ambitions. But there is one overriding theme: If the company is a dog and is merely riding a wave of irrational investor sentiment , and we can all name many of those, sell. If however, the company really is a serious prospect, the answer is virtually always to hold. Value outs in the end.

DBW, I'm still working on the assumption the funding will come in two tranches (if we get that far). I'm not convinced it will be one package.
We have an immediate cash flow need and then the longer-term construction phase requirement. My view (may be wrong) was that he was referring to the short-term requirement. Hopefully, the construction phase funding would be based upon an even higher value.

has publicly stated the 'interim' funding will be priced at a value in excess of the current price. In so doing, he's quite possibly unwittingly released price sensitive information (not that I care). But, from his point of view, he's created a huge rod for his own back.
If this turns out not to be the case, I believe there would be justified calls for his removal. Personally, I don't believe he's that stupid and we're going to be pleasantly surprised by the package - at least I hope so.
Also, it's going to be fascinating to see the sources of this funding. It may well provide some clues as to the future direction.
Either way, we don't have long to wait.

Despite the fact I suspect he thinks of himself as being immortal, the old boy's getting on a bit and will soon run out steam. And I've yet to meet an entrepreneur who doesn't want to take something off the table. Or rather I have - they tend to be the poor ones.
