A couple of weeks ago the announcement claimed they would buy either from the market or at the time of the fundraise. They now say they can't buy in the market because they have inside information.
They had that info when they made the announcement. In my opinion they only said it in an attempt to bouy the sp. The intention was always to but during the fundraise- which is by far the better thing to do.

Quady, there'd be no chance of a divi until at least 2030. In fact, it would probably be beyond that date if they want to develop the other prospects.

I guess my whole argument centres on what I see as a compelling argument; BHP has not ponied up so much money simply to end up as minority shareholders - particularly as our CEO is effectively telling them to butt out. It simply wouldn't make any sense.
The more NM blusters, the more likely it is BHP will teach him a lesson.

Jillifant, nothing is risk free and I don't think anyone on here is naive enough to believe it is. However, you assked a specific question and the replies have given you the answer.

Jollifant, have the drilling results passed you by?

I should add a caveat: If NM either ignores them in the next funding round, or tries to bring in a threatening third party rival, the gloves would come off and BHP will go for it.

If a major wants to either increase its exposure in Equador, or take a first step, what would they decide to do in relation to SOLG?
Would they make an offer to buy Alpala at a price which is acceptable to NM in an agreed deal, or would they go hostile for the whole shooting match, knowing they'd be getting all of the other concessions for virtually nothing?
Both approaches have merit, but I'm pretty sure that if we're talking about either BHP or New, their approach would be the former. They've set their stall out with regard to exploration, so why backtrack? In other words, I don't see either of them making a hostile approach. However, one of them will end up owning 100% of Alpala.
