Would trading pause when the shares are being consolidated or would it be the case of eg all shares owned at the close of x date will be consolidated?

Personally I understand that it’s for the long term benefit of the company but don’t feel this should go ahead until the share price recovers more which is likely to happen by the end of the year anyway. I expect they may also be wanting to reduce shares, ready to pay a dividend next year but delaying this till year end will also help the company as the sp will be consolidated higher and will help current share holders in terms of the money already invested.

Thanks Trenners for your explanation. I’m not trying to upset anyone. I’m just worried that the price won’t go to £4-£5 so I’ll never be able to recover my initial investment. It’s not the % of shares I’m concerned about it’s whether I’ll get my money back and it seems the price won’t go high enough for that to happen. Serco for example is under £2

We’ve had a sp downgrade by Deutsche bank to 0.25. Any ideas on how high the sp may go before any potential consolidation?

@macey if you’re not invested then you won’t understand. I get consolidation and how it works. What you’re not getting is, even in the hay day when Capita was at its absolute peak, the share price was around £8. That’s not happening again so percentage wise, we won’t get back our capital invested if we suddenly need the money.

It means that if you need the money one day for retirement or anything, it’s highly likely that you’ll get less money back. It was easier for the share price to go to 40-50p than £4-5+. It’s unlikely to go that high.

There’s no guarantee that the share price won’t fall further after consolidation. In fact it will have even further to fall.

It was mentioned in the results yesterday. They claim that it will be to the same proportion / ratio but it means that we’d technically never get our money back as the share price can’t really go that high. We’ve been sold out

I don’t think they should consolidate at a time when the price is so low. By the end of the year it would have gone up anyway. That would have been a better time to make it fair for long term shareholders. I’ve emailed Capita and major shareholders. May be helpful if other shareholders do the same

Does anyone know when the vote for consolidation will be? Do shares continue trading when consolidation is taking place? Will we have time to sell if the motion is approved?

Investor’s money will be stuck permanently as it’s almost impossible for the stock to tripple or quadruple if the shares are consolidated.

As a loyal investor and employee it’s frustrating that they’re doing this rather than increasing the share price other ways.

She ignored the issues raised about breaking even etc and gave a general answer about how consolidation works (which I know anyway).

If we consolidate I might just sell up for good as my overall invested capital will be less and I can’t wait 10 years to get my money back through dividends. I’m hoping other investors will agree. It’s not as easy as saying that they’re swapping one lot of shares for a proportionate amount as it doesn’t take into account the people who’ve bought at 40p +. A lot of loyal investors will lose out if this goes ahead. Short sellers will go away anyway when better results are announced later in the year. Unless the new share price goes to about £5 minimum (unlikely) then some investors will lose out considering break even and target share price etc.

Is that def being proposed? It could hit our capital invested for the sake of a few short sellers. They’re better off doing something else to get the share price up. Not a good idea

I don’t think consolidation will be good for shareholders as the share price is more likely to go to 40-50p rather than £2-3 meaning our capital investment would be less. Hope that doesn’t go ahead

Share price has been a bit crazy today and Friday. Can’t see any reason for that. Seems like just one of those things. Hopefully we’ll see some clear direction and an increase in SP in a couple of days so ‘watch this space’

Not long to go. There’s a lot of good stuff happening. Share price should be shooting up soon and not long till free cash flow and dividends

Disappointing to hear of the MOD contract but a minor setback in the grand scheme of things. We’re on the right path generally. Expecting better days soon
