RE: To the reasonable ones29 Oct 2024 10:04
Lots of negative noise so lets concentrate on the facts.
1: H1 now producing, initially we heard 300 bbl/d but this will increase output in a month or 2, standard oilfield practise to start a well off slow, this equals revenue over the winter period.
2: H2 currently being well tested, result due any day but it looks positive according to the drilling RNS, exact flow rate TBA advised soon once the well test is completed, will it be producing over winter, its close but yes we should manage to complete the well before the winter shutdown and add more revenue over winter.
3: DQE / PC / soft loan options or outright take over all being bandied about, really is a case of wait see but either way its good news not to far away, Mongolia seem to be working in the background to make this happen faster probably due to the refinery needing 30,000 bbl/d.
4: We get the impression Mongolia now in a hurry to make sure the 30,000 barrels a day they need for the new refinery is available, we know the pipeline will be ready Q3 2025 and the engineers confirmed last month the refinery will be ready March 2026. Certainly Mongolia red tape seems to have melted away in an effort to get MATAD producing.
5: New blocks in proven oil reserve areas about to be awarded, MATAD seem quite certain to pick some of these blocks up.
6: And most importantly (for me), my gut says this is right.
