Dozzawba, JV with the refinery would be brilliant, certainly strange they were granted exploration licence.

For what its worth they really need to get cracking on Heron field next year, latest refinery news is early 2028 but it sounds like Mongolia want it completed sooner, either way wells take time to drill so starting next year is a must.

I33 pretty much agree the raise was due to prospective suitors hanging back and hoping to come in last minute with real lowball offer, agreed the raise and announced well tests etc give them a kick in the teeth.

Any prospective JV partner or buyer that thought we were going to sit back and wait for them got a kick in the teeth, if the Chinese want to play ball its game on.

Gazelle RNS 17th Ocy 2019: Upper Tsagaantsav reservoir objective, good wet gas shows were recorded throughout a predominantly shale prone section. 3 metres of net oil pay in good quality sandstone have been defined on the logs.

Gobi RNS 7th October 2024: Wireline logging confirmed a total of 34m of reservoir quality sandstones within a gross interval of 70m between 1,558m and 1,628m. From logs, the sands are computed to have 13% average porosity which is consistent with the productive reservoirs in the basin.

It has since been confirmed this oil has migrated (moved) due to reservoir pressures and forces, review of the drill cuttings which has been ongoing for several months will identify the best area/well depth for perforating the casing.

ClimbingW, my thoughts exactly, Heron field (Tamsag Basin) is adjacent to Petro China field (Tamsag Basin) which they bought from SOCO back in 2005, currently PCs half produces 90% of Mongolias oil, the geology on our half of the Tanmsag is identical to PC half, they are desperate to buy us out by fair or foul means.

The good news now is we have the cash to develop Gobi/Gazelle & H2, as little as 300 bopd from any permutation of these secures our future and means we have beat Petro Chinas underhanded quite typical Chinese tactics.

Great buying opportunity, fact is nowt changed other than a certain course ahead and funding to bring H2, Gazelle & Gobi into production, all three wells already drilled and cased to bottom and reasonably cheap work over rig can do the job, at the same time we are cutting costs by switching from diesel generators to electric grid, all bodes well for those (like me) that are happy to wait for the payback.

Meantime the JV/buyout discussions continue, but yesterdays RNS will only serve to push partners/buyers into more urgent discussion, force their hands basically

Not that unhappy with yesterdays RNS, another 350 million shares so around 1.75 billion in total after the raise, still no debt and funded for H2, Gobi & Gazelle, this has been forced by Petro China late paying for the oil we have produced to date and holding back 30% when they did pay, quite obviously PC are putting the screws on MATAD, would not surprise me if some of the BASHERs on here were working for PC, maybe indirectly through a trader but working for PC no less in an attempt to hold the price down.

Many blaming MB for this yet its not really his fault, he tried to hold off a raise but PCs actions have forced this, make no mistake PC want the Heron field and are quite happy to play dirty.

Doc, you can bet your last dollar i will be buying many many more shares and no doubt others will be as well, i expect the sp to take a hit first thing this morning then recover as the savvy investors pile in.

Adw might even get to invest his 2k life savings.

Also good to see Petrovis & MB put their money where their mouth is.

Let the NEGs be, they have been pushing the raise for 6 months so they had to be right some time, two positives for me, i can reduce my already low average substantially and we have the cash to develop at least 2 of the 3 drilled and cased holes and maybe even all 3.

NEGs wetting themselves with glee, fact is this has been forced on us by the bashers bosses (Petro China), not to unhappy, its not a huge raise but more important it gives me the opportunity to load up cheaply.
