The facts as we know them, (April 2025) Mongolia ask Petro China to increase production, PC advise its not possible, probably as their 20 year old oilfield is played out.

MATADs Heron field is the only option that Mongolia have to increase daily production inline with the refinery’s daily requirement of 30,000 bopd, Mongolia, Petro China and MATAD all know this, there is no other option, MATAD are willing to sell Heron field, Petro China and most likely Sinopec/Dongsheng are the likely outright buyers, can we trust Petro China, quite obviously not.

As a curveball the refinery operator has been granted exploitation & exploration rights, very strange, have never heard of a refinery exploring for its own oil, step in MATAD and our Heron field, a match made in heaven.

Where are the 1p guys, bring on 3p, reasonable result (150 bopd) with H2 and we will see 3p, reasonable result with Gazelle (150 bopd) then we reach 5p, great result with Gobi (very possible) who knows where we go.

And they better get drilling Heron field soon, you do not conjure up producing wells, will take at least 2 years drilling to make up the shortfall in daily oil production to the 30,000 bopd the refinery needs, PC or Sinopec/Dongsheng need to dig deep, or the refinery need to JV/partner with Matad/Petrovis and the government pays for drilling our Heron field, simple as that.

Plus, lets not forget Mongolia were begging Petro China to up production back in April (see link), PC cannot do this as their 20 year old oilfield is played out, all the best prospects already drilled, the only known oil field with the volume of oil Mongolia need is MATADs Heron field, Mongolia know that, Petro China know that, MATAD knows that.

I33, i would agree MATAD cannot "go it alone", drill = 1.5 million, welltest and completion (if required) adds another 2.5 million, so not feasible.

But the refinery would make a great JV partner, always found it strange why the refinery operator has been granted exploitation and exploration rights as stated at below link, never heard of a refinery drilling for oil before.

Pilsbury7, quite obvious (to most) whats at stake here, i have posted links to so many parts of the jigsaw, as you say power and politics that are playing out and billions of dollars at stake for the winners.

ClimbingWooster, maybe they did not get paid, Petro China obviously have a history of not paying their dues.

If you have read and investigated the numerous factual and checkable links i posted in the last few days you will reach one conclusion, Mongolia are intent on being self sufficient energy wise ASAP, to do this they need the refinery and Mongolian oil to feed it, at present Mongolias daily oil production is not enough to run the refinery at 100% capacity, they are around 14000 bopd short of what they need, Petro China production is falling, their 20 year old wells in the oilfield adjacent to MATADS Heron field are played out, Mongolia and Petro China need the oil from the Heron field, its the only known oilfield that can supply the quantity needed, hence the dirty tricks from Petro China, taking months to pay for our oil then witholding 30% payment for oil on some spurious tax claim, essentially Petro China have put us in the position we needed a raise, amazed some cannot understand this or to be more exact do not want to see this.

Also seems that many stock BASHERs have arrived on the board, non holders that can spend hours and hours every day making up outrageous fake claims, dirty tricks indeed, the Chinese way.

MATADs Heron field is in the southern section of TAMSAG Basin, Petro Chinas oilfield is adjacent to the north, geologies are identical, Petro China know exactly what lies beneath the Heron field, indeed they provided MATAD with 3D seismic of the northern boundry of the Heron field.

Maybe some do not realise Petrovis formed MATAD.

Gadgie, quite correct, Petrovis are Mongolias largest supplier of energy products and our largest shareholder.

Personally i think Petrovis investors would rather see a closer tie up with MATAD now that they are an oil producer and the refinery is not that far off, as Mongolia’s largest fuel supplier i would assume Petrovis will also be the refinery’s biggest customer, what better than have a stake in the company that is supplying oil to the refinery, win win both ends of the supply chain.

Mongolia meeting in April, they want Petro China oil production increased but their 20 year old oilfield is played out hence trying to get our untapped HERON field on the cheap.

SpiritF, agreed, industry standard price for oil in reserve is $3 per barrel minimum so concur your figures are accurate, but as said $3 per barrel is normally a minimum valuation, it can be far more, given how desperate Mongolia are to increase their daily oil production to meet the refinery needs we are in a good position as Heron is the only known untapped oilfield that can supply oil in the quantity the refinery need to operate at 100% capacity

Hamm, my one and only reply to you going forward, yes i was confident on 5p by June, but i based that on remedial works starting in early April, like MB i did not forsee Petro China witholding payment for our oil, i had expected prompty payment allowing us to work on and monetize one or more of our already drilled and cased wells, feel free to reply though i can assure you there will be no reply, i feel it a serious waste of my time replying to idiots.
