Not sure why the testing sites for Covid do not just do a quick ODX Antibody test before doing the Antigen test, it would reduce the need for the antigen tests significantly, up to 17% in some areas. That would reduce the pressure on the Labs testing for current Covid symptoms, which are done repeatedly on certain groups.

To do this would in effect mean mass testing.

Maybe this is the plan??

Personally I think they are keeping the antibody home testing low key, as the next question would be why no immunity passports.

Until they have all the elements in place they will not shout from the rooftops.

Older people do not develop antibodies so readily.

Even with a vaccine older/vulnerable people may need a monthly antibody check to see if their vaccine needs topped up, only realistic way for that to happen is with a fast accurate antibody test. This situation is likely to last many years until a longer lasting solution is found, if ever.

Even if you did catch a different strain, fact that you have had a coronavirus infection/vaccine and have developed antibodies means you will not experience the disease as bad as severely as you would without antibodies, i.e. unlikely to kill you.

My thoughts on the delays are that the gov't is trying to keep tight control.

Their worry is that if people are easily able to self test, then how can they justify keeping them under restrictions (if they have antibodies)? and also that some idiots will try get infected to get positive tests.

End result is they should have a framework in place to allow those with antibodies to live freely (Covid passports/passes)

No excuse not to allow this now, it would reduce strain on the lab testing sytem, and allow NHS workers to work if their kid comes home with a sniffle.

Yet again the UK Gov't are world class losers.

Silver lining in the delay is that 80's/90's no longer seem expensive, so when news lands we will have strong upward pressure.

My thoughts are 120-130p on MHRA approval, and hopefully hard on its heels, order news, 150p-200p

Could all happen this week IMO, longer it goes on the nearer it has to be.

Not just about the test design, it is also about the ability to manufacture millions of trests with consistent quality, and at a reasonable price.

Add in the hoops that have to be jumped through, then you see ODX are still in a pretty good place, biggest worry is if this corrupt govenment are hoping to get kickbacks from friends who might be suitable for a contract, whether they are the best choice or not.

Better speak with your lawyer, look at the company tweets, they spent a fortune buying new manufacturing equipment/capacity to ramp up production to around 500,000 per week, even without those official orders, so your statement is blown out the water already.
