update from spring statement:

at spring statement 2025, the government committed to removing climate change levy (ccl) costs from electricity used in electrolysis to produce hydrogen. this will support the growth of low carbon electrolytic hydrogen production, which will play an important role in decarbonising the power system and hard to electrify industrial and transport sectors.

i think ccl is about £9/mwh, with non-commodity charges in total being £80-110/mwh based on geography - so a decent reduction in non-commodity charges for those powering an electrolyser to generate hydrogen.

GMTLF in the US looks to be up 15% today.

It will be interesting to see if momentum can carry on this week or if it all got priced in on Friday.

I think there’s room for everyone - I don’t think ITM is looking to corner the market.

I believe there is a limit in how much of the EU grant monies can be spent on Chinese material too.

Equally, you would have to do a ‘total cost over life’ model to determine whether this is a just a cheaper list price but the maintenance costs and overall life of the equipment may (!) be prohibitive.

I would not be losing sleep over this one, but as a holder it’s definitely one to keep an eye on!
