Nothing at all. Just the principal and desire for immunotherapy treatments, and showing that drugs that help 5% of study participants can still have a use in the market.

Alot of companies who have got to this stage in recent times have terminated products here due to lack of efficacy, plus the side effects have been worse than current treatments available. I think from the available data from the poorly designed trial shows efficacy/safety especially in the recognised bio marker for lupus. I can only assume that people who do not test positive for this could be suffering from an array of similar diseases. In his interview after the top-line results they genuinely seem gobsmacked by the knee jerk reaction in the sp. Bargain at these levels especially if they can address half the market.

Looking at the topline it helped just over half the patients that took it so 1 in 2 people. But full analysis mainly shows it works on antibody positive white people of European descent which is evident from the full analysis. Plus no ill effects unlike with SOC and a fully fighting immune system. Great drug for the people it will help. I wonder if the SOC tampered with the drug personally.

Reading the article it suggests it only helps 5% of people. Lupuzor helped a fair few more than that, at least 32 in the antibody cohort and then the people without the marker also responded. But it is also effective at treating different autoimmune diseases. I can see this going to market as the health benefits are amazing for the people it will help, plus the lack of treatment out there (benlysta) at least the patients would be alive for a follow up.

Nice article, seems like there is call for treatments that don't effect the immune system. Made me think of Lupuzor reading that, but funnily enough a cancer treatment is the 2nd most developed treatment we have. Thanks for the post.

If they had only accepted antibody positive patients to the trial I reckon it would of been a overall success. It's disappointing that the US cohorts lacked this marker making me wonder if wrong diagnosis/race/human error played a factor as lack of response was evident from the SOC also. I hope the extension study can rectify some more questions and provide significance overall. Good drug for antibody positive Europeans though.

Massive shame it's not good for everybody, but for the ones it will help will benefit greatly in my opinion and be able to lead much healthier normal lives from it. It's apparently good at treating other disorders too but that will take more investigation something someone else may look into.

I think companies are interested in this product, it may only cater to a certain group of sufferers, but isn't that the same with most medications...
