RE: Phase 2 study16 Dec 2020 19:32
Dave - nobody knows what actually happened.
Safety data goes for decades, so no safety concerns.
Biomarkers data available from covid and COPD trials, plus IV ifn in Wuhan from Fish (another 100), so again, evidence suggests that this **** works. Further research into covid shows that lack of ifn is one of the reasons for severe covid.
Recovery trial - two versions - one is that SNG team were not happy with the trial and wanted their own endpoints - fair enough if recovery trial is as simple as I understand (inject the Guinea pig with a ****tail of drugs -> see whether it leaves the hospital on its two legs or is carried out in a plastic bag). SNG might have gotten into a p.ss fight with the guys running Recovery, so didn't get on it.
Alternative version - I have seen somebody mentioning concerns about availability of SNG001 To complete the trial (!!!) which would be a very valid reason not no continue with it at the time. Doesn't explain sh.t like plasma getting on recovery though.
Potentially, p.ss poor planning from SNG team in designing phase 2 - did not get enough participants in hospital arm and completely f.cked up the home arm, so ended up missing out on the second wave and are now heading towards a potential wave 3 f.ck up too.
In any case it is criminal that SNG001 hasn't been P3'd in UK 6 months ago and hasn't saved a single life outside of the P2 trial so far.
The downside of granting EUA based on P2 hospital arm is very small, the upside would have been a potential (and likely) covid cure.
